It was under other Democratic presidents: Kennedy and Johnson, that COINTELPRO reached its greatest extent. Under the Democrat Clinton, we staved a million Iraqis to death.

Bush may be a partiularly venal, stupid, and corrupt President, but in terms of war and domestic repression, he's not really that far removed from most of our previous Presidents.

As for the deficit, deficit spending during a recession can be a good thing, provided it's properly targetted. This is where his stupidity and corruption make a difference, since this deficit isn't targetted to stimuating the economy.
Yes, but that's all I'm saying: not that Gore would have been clearly preferable to Bush (that's highly debateable, for the reasons you cite), but that there's no way to argue, based on his record to date, that Bush was clearly preferable to Gore. The emphasis is on "clearly."

BTW, under Gore's tax plan, people under $375,000 income level would be taxed less than under the Bush plan... and it was still projected to have a surplus.

Also, because the cut was less than Bush's, programs would not be gutted and state and local taxes would not be raised. But yet, the dopes still believe the Bush 2001 plan was good. (edit: this means that people would not be getting $400 in the mail, but rather thousands less in tuition costs and health care costs)
To us, it is the BEAST.

even Republicans would have been saying, "Thank God that imbecile Bush isn't President!"
No. They'd be saying, 'he makes the Amish look like swingers.'
