I'm addicted to caffiene, I just need a different way to take it. Proper coffee feels like it's rotting my insides out, tea is subtler.

        Tea.

        Green tea over anything else.

Caffeine does not sit well with me, any coffee and I am up all night. Tea sits much better, relaxing me so that I sleep better.

Have you tried Jasmine Tea? If you like green tea it might be worth a try.

When I drink (and that's rarely) I drink Illy's espresso made using a classic Alessi nut-shaped (as in nuts and bolts) espresso maker. The one with zero moving parts.

I tried coffee once when I was like, 13 -- I spit it right back out, and like the Jews said -- "Never again!"

No, how does it compare with green tea?

It's a bit subtler, more flowery I guess but still in a good manly tea way. I really like it. There's a great noodle bar in Reading and I always get the chinese (jasmine) tea there.

In any case, I'll give the tea a try. Just between you and me, eh?

Jamaican Red Mountain (or is it 'blue'?), black, no sugar, made with an espresso machine (not one of the big ones though, unfortunately).

My favourite is Viennesse or Guatamalan (big and fat, the Viennesse with a stronger finish, the Guatamalan a little chocolatey at the end). Always with 1 1/2 teaspoons of brown sugar, and occasionally a square of dark chocolate I have a shop in town I buy from in little bags, and then grind the beans myself. However for most occasions I buy Cafe Direct fair-trade instant, which is pretty decent, when I can't be bothered to make real coffee.

My absolute favourite though is a Grande Cafe Mocha with an extra (3rd) shot of expresso, from Cafe Nero (my local). It's basically 3 shots of expresso in a hot chocolate topped with whipped cream and grated chocolate, in a huge mug. It may cost more than a pint of beer (more than 2 at some places ) but it's worth it... In fact, I think I'll just pop out for one now

Edit: Also I discovered a taste for ristressos, which are expressos made with half the water (very strong). However unless they use decent beans, these can be very bitter. The best place I've had one was the Tate Modern, in their 5th floor bar tucked away in a little side corridor. Was a while ago, but was done very nicely.
