            Dissident:

my AP Gov't Test had a graph (i assume these graphs in the test are not hypothetical) which was based on a poll and showed that a plurality across all but the lowest tenth of americans, considered themselves conservative... the conservative side did increase by increments as you got higher up on the income scale (though it balanced out in the 7 or 8th area a bit [hence upper middle class liberalism) to the point where the top tenth was 70% conservative but all the tenths below that (except for the 1, 7 and 8 or so) still showed a high percentage of conservatives.

wish i was allowed to copy the graph and keep it for myself but it was test material.

see the thing you're forgetting is all the rural, small-town, and trailer park people who carry the republican party. there aint enough rich people to be conservatives and keep conservatism politcally viable... logically, the majority of conservatives are lower middle class.

            thanks

"people with money are liberal only if they feel guilty about it"

Some people with money should feel guilty about it. I am as of now without money, and therefore feel only blissful prole purity.

              And hunger.

Carnegie and Rockefeller were hardly liberals and they didn't fell guilty about having money yet they still made huge donations...

and about urban school districts... the philly one was a huge mess three years ago... it was millions of dollars in debt... hundreds of thousands of dollars in teacher's salaries "vanished"... the teacher's union threatened a strike... there was a massive call for the super-intendent to resign... the state of PA threatened to take over the district (though it was clear that they did not want to)... in the end, Edison Corporation offered to 'buy' the district but that was decided against halfly... instead, the philly school district is now re-organized and is jointly controlled by Edison Corp. and the state, run by CEO Paul Vallas... the worst performing schools have been privatized but everything else has been left basically the same for now.

                      Edison corp ehh.

I think they own one of our schools as a test project. I'm not sure how that's going so far.

Dissident, this may be hard for you to believe, but there are some people who:
                        a) care about humanity
                        b) realize the benefits of mutual altruism

Fact is, liberals are happier than conservatives.

Besides, being liberal has nothing to do with being against money. It's just that in a liberal society, you can buy more with less.

There are liberals who are religious.

What bubble do you live in?
A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

because liberals like relativism and god doesn't.
