all political ideologies suck. They always think they know everything, but they never consider what will happen beyond the next election and aren't willing to accept the facts.

That is only the 2 main parties. The minor parties are much more forward thinking. The US has become an Oligarchy because the two main parties control the means of financing campaigns, they can't regulate who can run, but they con say who has a chance of winning or not. The one's they don't pick have to go independent, anfd they don't have the funds to compete with the big 2.

yes, but this is the case in most electoral democracys, the nature of an electative system means that once a party starts getting in with a chance of actually doing well, it HAS to moderate and become more or less in line with the others simply to win the lection, but this happens over many years so that a parties ideals change gradually from a few activists with radical (but possibley good) ideas, to a party that has a serious (if not the biggest) voice in politics which needs to calsm down so as not to scare away the vast majority of voters - by this time they want to win, not be idealists or what ever.

Suburbs are neither liberal or conservative, they are instead incredibly apathetic when it comes to politics. Tends to happen when you're isolated from the rest of the world.

There are reasons why I believe mankind should live in cities and let nature reclaim all the villages with the exception of a few we keep on display as horrific reminders of rural life.-Starchild

Why are suburbanites falling for conservatism?
They know a good thing when they see it.

                        Some of the reasons are:

1-Taxes, suburban homes tend to be of greater value and thus have hefty property tax bills.

2-Schools, many urban school systems are at the mercy of the teachers unions which make it near impossible to get rid of teachers not making the grade. Many urban schools are run by school boards which are not directly elected, and are just high paying jobs handed out by the ruling party (usually Democrats). Suburban schools are dominated by the elected school boards and tend to take a narrow view of low test scores and pay scales not justified by the results.

3- Suburbanites are more likely to have worked hard to get what they wanted, thus have more invested and are more likely to take a dim view of those who consistantly rely on government instead of themselves to get ahead.

The third reason can also be used to explain why the children of suburbanites many times are liberal, Having been given everything by the parents, they see little value in working hard and think of the government as an extension of their parents, someone to get stuff from without any investment of effort on their part.
"The greatest happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved - loved for ourselves, or rather, loved in spite of ourselves."--Victor Hugo

That's right, Odin's imitation of Fez is far superior to my imitation of Odin imitating Fez.
