Overstate what? I simply cited jobs that were more stressful and difficult than being president. The numbers are irrelevant. Did I say every single member of the Armed Forces? No, I specified troops in Iraq that are seeing combat... and more specifically, those that have lost friends. It's a shame you are trying to diminish their sacrifices.

nah, he's too busy trying to argue that American soldiers are insignificant, and therefore don't matter in terms of comparing professions.

Why are you people whining about the long standing tradition of Presidents leaving Washington every chance they get?

I know why you're doing it. I was just curious why other people were doing it.

So, you are all saying that the casualties are so low in Iraq that they don't even compare to domestic accident casualties?

I'm saying Sava is an idiot if he thinks the average soldier is losing his friends in Iraq.

People may be dying, but the President STILL has a tougher job, IMO. The decision makers work much harder than the peons give them credit for, and this *****ing always happens .

That's not what I said, but go on distorting and manipulating...

Again, stop thinking in black and white... just because I am saying soldiers have a tougher job, doesn't mean the president's job is easy.

We can, but I think it's against the rules.

I think the average grunt in Iraq has a more demanding and stressful job. 4 hours of sleep, if that, and your friends dying around you

                          Wanna try again?

Actually I think you ARE saying the President's job is easy, and you think that this 'vacation' is just all fun and games. Obviously, you've never heard of a working vacation before.

Sava, i'm not heartless or anything else. I'm simply stating the facts. Job description of a soldier: Fight, and if necessary die, for your country. Job description of President: Make descisions. He can do his job just as well from "the Western Whitehouse" as he can from Washington. You have done nothing to dispute that, which is the most relevant to your initial assumption, that him being in Crawford was a bad thing, and meant he wasn't doing his job. When someone makes a valid point, you simply change the subject and start talking about the infintesimal percentage of soldiers who have been affected by death, which is in fact in the Job description.
"Mal nommer les choses, c'est accroître le malheur du monde" - Camus (thanks Davout)

"I thought you must be dead ..." he said simply. "So did I for a while," said Ford, "and then I decided I was a lemon for a couple of weeks. A kept myself amused all that time jumping in and out of a gin and tonic."

Why? I got it right the first time. You might want to get Hooked on Phonics because I clearly posted two different statements. You expanded my definition of grunt to include all of Ameriac's armed forces... your mistake, not mine.

Backtrack further, Sava. The second sentance in the first quote obviously refers to the first statement .
