actually the second phrase is a compound fragment. It is not a complete sentence. Who needs hooked on phonics?

"I thought you must be dead ..." he said simply. "So did I for a while," said Ford, "and then I decided I was a lemon for a couple of weeks. A kept myself amused all that time jumping in and out of a gin and tonic."

What I am avoiding is your word manipulation... which IS NOT the issue here... maybe you need to reread the first post to find out what is... m'kay!

You see Imran? This is what you get for not putting a disclaimer in your post.

Well, as I've noted 21% of all Presidents have been shot or stabbed sometime within their political career (a couple more than once). Something tells me it's tougher than being the fry chef at Wendy's... right, Sava? How many times have you been shot at?

MrFun: Savaized! I prefer "Savaged" myself... it also has the Sava-baiting connotation of bringing to mind Michael Savage, everybody's new "fave to hate" conservative radio schmuck.

This thread has been Savaged. Mods, you may close it now.

Again, you are being the typical ridiculous little Leftist. The President does not "sit around the office drinking coffee with his buddies".

He has to bear the responsibility of war and peace, with every decision that could put thousands of US soldiers in harm's way. Every decision the US president makes affects the lives of every single American. He literally has to bear the responsibility for the lives of 260,000,000 american lives every single day.

There is no job that is more stressful than that. Being President of the US is the most stressful job in the world. End of debate.

Let's see, he works 7 days a week, and is on call 24 hours a day during the entire time he is in the job. He has to read and assimulate reports on everything from the economy to what is happening in the samllest backwater country and make choices on how to deal with it all. Even if he trys to get in a round of golf, the president will be stopped all of the time throughout the game to take care of things that come up. Not to mention, that anytime you are anywhere that the press can get near, you are constantly asked questions and the samllest thing you say can be blown up to be bigger than it should. You aren't responsible to see that your squad members are killed unneedfully, you are responisble for each and every death. And it never lets up, not a single day, hour or minute.

Yea, the job is a piece of cake, a walk in the park. Look at the before and after pictures of the last 5 or so Presidents. They all age about 20 or so years in office. But your right, it is so easy.

Just for record: Has Sava ever admitted he's wrong? Or that he may have exaggerated things just a wee bit?

In any case, I personally can't think of a lousier job than US President. Those who doubt the stress need only look at pictures of Jimmy Carter from 1976 and then again in 1980. He aged about 20 years.

Sava hasn't admitted anything like that, nor has he said anything that would suggest that the Presidency is not a stressful job. All he said is that there are other people out there who have jobs equally as stressful if not more stressful that do not take 1 month vacations, or "work from home"...

It seems you and Sava cannot get the utterly simply notion into your heads that a 'vacation' to a President isn't the same as when you take a vacation!

Lets not go overboard here folks on how hard Bush works: he keeps tight schedule. He isn;t on call 24 hours a day..he goes to sleep around 11, wakes up at 6 or 7, so forth and so on. This WH runs on a shcedule, just like this vacation has long been on shcedule, like every year he has been in office.

As for it being the toughest job around...well, doesn't the Chinese premier have to make sure 1.2 billion people (20% of humanity) are, well, under control? That seems tougher to me. Davis doesn;t have an easy job either.

The only reason Gray "out" Davis has a tought job, is cause he is an incompetent baffoon.
