      Yep... rape is bad.

      Many woment do get raped...
And many men face unfair charges as well...

And nobody will be able to prove which this case will be.

But he is still a scum bag... that we do know

Yeah, but most of them were asking for it!

Who gave out that statistic? Not that it isn't true--I'm just surprised.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

What? They go out showing their ankles off, with make up on their faces, what do they expect is going to happen?

                Jon

the stat is 1/4. I looked it up on the internet.

But that number has been disputed.

Shouldn't that be 'accused someone of rape'? Would the Kobes and Tysons 'victims' be included in that statistic? ie probally NOT raped?

Wow, so you're saying that Mike Tyson didn't rape his victim?

                    • I might have remembered wrong

I use to dispute it too, but people who I knew who were female gave convincing evidence that it is right

my expereince would suggest that 1/4 is too small (for being raped, not accusing someone of rape)

In a word 'yes' and I'll never understand how he was found guilty

                          • (note I am including raped as kids and the like, if you only consider raped as adults than the number might be a little lower)

                            • I didn't really pay attention to Mike Tyson's case, so I can't say much about that.

But his reputation was not good. That was why he was convicted.

1/3 is too high. 1/4 is also too high.

Because, the way the questions were worded. They asked if women ever slept with someone they regretted sleeping with and wished that it never happened.

A yes reponse to that question was inclued in the 1 in 4 women were raped category.

                              • Diss,

To be convicted on the basis of reputation is disgraceful. 'Innocent until proven guilty' is the cliche (sp?)

Did anyone (he said/she said mainly) produce enough proof incarcerate a person for 5 years?
