Compare the amount of clout the Religious Right has with the GOP as opposed to the Democrats.
The GOP still has to pander to the RR, especially in the Bible Belt. The Democrats aren't under such obligations, as they've resigned themselves to losing those votes anyway.
There are a few Democrats, once again mostly in the Bible Belt, who are in the RR's clutches, sure. But their numbers are pale in comparison to similarly-indebted Republicans, and on a national level the RR is solely a factor in the GOP's platform and vote-mustering.
Religious fundamentalism is a problem with the party I support, sometimes there are republicans I choose not to support. Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't the democratic party always known as the KKK party?

Go ahead. You've already got Fez on your side; why don't you get every other loon on the board to agree with you? Surely that would prove your point.
I am somewhat on his side... he just said something about the political party I support that I found a bit distorted.
Drake.. I am no loon. Not anymore than you are.

I was referring to the time(s) DF stated he hoped U.S. service people were killed in Iraq as a "lesson." Did you or did you not jump on that? Just want you to be consistent, dear boy.

I'd personally liked to see all of these religious nutcases croak. Look at them.. they don't even represent a miniscule minority anymore.
hahaha... let's see how much support gays get in the inner city... whether you like it or not, the masses are "homophobic"

AS, when are you going to stop talking out of your posterior?
You do realize it has been urban centers that have led the way on enacting gay civil rights measures, including partner benefits, non-discrimination laws, etc?
Here's some statistical numbers for you, instead of your own (limited) worldview:
Poll finds youth support for gay rights
___WASHINGTON (RNS)--Two-thirds of recent high school graduates support the right of gays and lesbians to marry, including an astonishing 80 percent of Catholics and 46 percent of Protestants who do not describe themselves as "born again."
___Those findings were released as part of a sweeping survey of high school attitudes on homosexuality conducted by MTV, Zogby International and Hamilton College.
___The poll found greater acceptance for gays and lesbians--as teachers, friends, Scouts and classmates--in the class of 2001 than among their parents or grandparents. Only 39 percent of graduates said "gay lifestyles are morally wrong."
___Among the poll's findings:
___ 71 percent support the right of gays to serve as Scout masters.
___ 88 percent support hate crimes legislation to protect gays.
___ 68 percent support adoption by gay and lesbian couples.
___ 79 percent support gay employment anti-discrimination laws.

No they aren't, and thanks to Boris for proving that.
Al, you are just so ignorant of the facts.
