    Black Dragon:

thats the thing i've been trying to understand just about my whole life... any random person off the street knows drugs are bad, knows it's a bad idea to have pre-marital sex, is what would be considered homophobic, is against abortions, is against feminism, goes to church, jahovah's witness meeting hall, or mosque regularily... and they fully fulfill the criteria for conservatives... and yet they do bad ****... i'm thinking it's that too many people got the idea in their heads that though they know drugs for example are bad they don't give a damn because its only normal for them (ie- its what everyone like them does) to do drugs

I live in the East Village, NYC. The coolest neighborhood in the US. Tree-lined streets, sidewalk cafes, every kind of food imaginable, Tompkins Square Park, and all the nightlife you can handle (and stumble home from). Crappy access to the subway though.

Before that, I lived in the Lower Garden District, right off of Saint Charles Ave. in New Orleans. Like the East Village, but not as fun.

You mean people off YOUR street? Or are you trying to say people off any street in general?

yeah jon miller... they dont care but the point is they do know its bad... and i am positive that any boy i know who smokes weed, drug deals, or has kids... if someone they loved started getting into that ****, they'd try to steer them clear. so people know it's wrong but they do it anyway.

I forgot about Riverside. All of my musician friends lived in that apartment complex behind the Backroom at some point in their careers. Still, it could have been worse - you could have lived on East 12th st.

The difference is that my street is exactly the opposite.

Hey, do you think Jenny from the block keeps it real?

                    Mono:

what does that matter? i was asked about the streets in the city so if i took my street, which is a street in th city, i can use it to represent all streets in the city cause it is one.

jennifer lopez taped that video in a different neighbourhood from where she grew up in... i think that sums up if she's keeping it real...

The difference is that most people aren't homophobic - they don't really give a ****. This is especially true in cities, but less so in rural areas. The difference is that these days, a lot of people DON'T go to any type of religious service. Most people, especially in cities, are pro-choice, and see nothing wrong with marijuana. And most people everywhere only see pre-marital sex as a problem if it leads to pregnancy or disease (ie, unprotected/promiscuous).

                          • roughly speaking yes... i'm not in the worst of the worst neighbourhoods (which would be neighbouring Kensington) but i'm in an area thats a far cry from the best... it's roughly equivalent to Fishtown (which is on the other side of kensington), the area where that guy was beaten to death for 400 dollars or something like that... yeah. typical ****.

Except that I come into contact with people who live "in the city" quite frequently.
