I personally think that your "social-democrat MEP" was just an idiot who tried to gain fifteen minutes of fame spitting on my country and that's all, it made no questions, he simply insulted italians saying they've a low QI (he referred to italian ministries but since they're elected from people... democracy, do you remember?... i wonder what Schulz QI is...), saying nonsense about italian immunity law (do you know that it was proposed by opposition? obviously no... he even said that Bossi was the minister for the immigration policy, while he's reform minister... obvioulsy when you've to smear Italy you don't need to know italian things, don't you? ...).

It would be interesting, wouldn't it? The Germans aren't really in fighting shape these days, but the Italians are Italian. Could be a good matchup.

According to Keegan teh Italian military was NOT incompetent in WW1 - they had a very well trained professional officer corps. They were in a difficult strategic position - they attacked Austrian and later German troops in impossiple alpine terrain. They finally collapsed when they reached a massive level of casualties - but then so did the Russians and the French. They had particular problems because most of the infantry was south italians, largely illiterate and with limited national loyalty.

In WW2 the Italian army protected Jews in the Balkans, and overthrew Mussolini. Id say that beats the record of the Wehrmacht by far.

lord, maybe you should consider the things they did prior to overthrowing mussolini. they actually conquered yugoslavia (with out help) FOR mussolini.
