Oh, stop whining. There's nothing wrong with wars for interests*.

*- as long as those interests are mine.

The study also found a very high correlation between those who believed that WMDs had been found AND supported the war.

Bush & Co. are hoodwinking the American public with a slight-of-hand that is painfully obvious. Too bad so many are willing to be duped.
Many people in the US have decided that Bush is "one of us" and is therefore trustworthy. Facts are irrelevant to such people.

How narrow thinking of the liberals, once again.
Your Pal Slick Willy fired a sh!thouse full of missiles at Iraq in 98 because it was thought by him and even Tom Dutchhound that Saddam has chem/bio weapons and he is a threat to America and his neighbors. Now of course Tom is changing his tune just to counter the Republicans who actually acted on it. WMD, EVIL man, these are nice enough reasons for eliminating the ***** but the real reason is the USA needs to have a foothold in the Middle East, in the hotspot that is breeding terrorists, now we are in the backyard of Saudi(where all the 19 terrorists were from), Iran(which is already feeling our pressure), same with Syria and even Turkey is on notice. Saddam just gave us the reason.
Lets always remember the passangers on United Flight 93, true heroes in every sense of the word!

It might not be unusual for them to lie but when they get caught out by it you have to tear them apart.

Blair's having a nightmare at the moment because of this supposed "intelligence" about WMD. If Bush doesn't get the same kind of treatment then why not? You can't just say, oh, politicians always lie so it's OK. Whether under oath or not makes no difference as far as I can see. I'd rather a politician lied about getting a blow job than lied about something that took our country to war.

That's not actually my point. Although lying to Congress is an impeachable and removable offence, lying to the American public is not. My point, is rather, about how the media has completely failed to inform the American public. A similar study after GW1 found that more people believed Kuwait was a democracy after the war than before the war. In other words, the media does not look critically at government propaganda (used here in the general sense, not the pajorative) or promote critical thinking among the American people.

Rather, in their quest to prove their loyalty, almost all opposing viewpoints (those would be the liberal ones) were shut out. Approximately 3% of the voices heard on the nightly news were anti-war. The best was NBC's Nightly News with 6%. Fox, oddly enough, was average (3%), and even beat out Dan Rather, who had 0% of viewpoints on his program from an antiwar perspective. MSNBC canceled their highest rated show, Donahue, because they were afraid it would become a haven for antiwar viewpoints.

                          Yeah, so, so liberal.

As somebody else pointed out... it's more a matter of stupid people vs the press. I've read MANY MANY MANY stories saying we haven't found squat yet. Some people are just "selective" on what they actually hear...

Don't blame the media for people being stupid or ill informed.

I will blame the media because they make a big issue every time smoeone claims WMDs are found, but then don't make a big deal when it turns out to be nothing . . . yet again.

And again, those who are most likely to be misinformed are those who support the Prez up the butt.
