I think they're trying to bring down the society by being leeches off capitalist success.
    Lime roots and treachery!

In Spain, most communists wear fur coats and have a nice life styles.. go figure.. And that guy I saw from the United Left party on television must of had a couple thousand dollar suit on...

The leftists in my country have always been hypocrites.

As to the original question, it's about the same way people can buy "Made in China" or "Made in Vietnam" things and be opposed to communism...*shrug*
Who wants DVDs? Good prices! I swear!

China and Vietnam are not true communist states.. in fact they have a sizable private sector, moreso China, that are outpacing government companies. You see this in China most of all.

And how many things do you get that say "Made in Vietnam"? It is mostly Taiwan, China, Japan and Malaysia when I buy products.

Actually, Communism does not require a command economy, which the USSR has showed is way too inefficient, if a bussiness is a Co-op it would be communist and free market, the best of both worlds.

Communism is not a political system. Neither is capitalism.

MY question is what was posted in the initial thread -- how can you be communist while enjoying the luxuries of capitalism??
Why, is your idea of communism some grey, drab place?

It is certainly possible that a Disneyland-esque holiday destination exists in a communist country. The best thing is it's probably free for all.

This sounds like the sort of opinion best formed in complete ignorance of what real co-ops are like.

Or something like that. I mean, if you're gonna be a communist, then renounce capitalism!
By embargoing it? Come now....One person cannot possibly be expected to change things, least of all DISNEYWORLD by NOT GOING

It's because they're armchair communists only.

More drivel from Cali. How surprising

How can you believe in a political system that has failed so completely the times it has been tried?
Examples? True communism has never been tried....and probably won't be tried for quite a while. Humans are not evolved enough yet to achieve it.

Socialism has already been tried and been sucessful. Simply go to Europes cheney, and you'll see.

                          we like eating.

It is a joke and in the end makes the people suffer.
Shall we get into a discussion about FACISM, Fez? Your hardly one to be critisizing another viewpoint about making people suffer when your own.....

And yes, the cheney of europe is REALLY suffering from a massive dictatorship. Yep

Well the only problem I have is I can't possibly see how communism could ever function properly.
Thats because you dont open your mind. AND before you say your open minded.....Just look at my sig. Basically: I listen to others, but won't consider their viewpoints at all.

Your worse than Ned, Fez....Well ok, maybe I'm stretching it there

Capitalism will always outpace Communism (every form of it) in my honest opinion.
                          UN Standards of living.....

I guess Kofi dreams of tall, norsk women

Worst of all, why do they treat the working class like lepers?

I didn't know that communists treated the working class like lepers. In that case, it must mean they treat the capitalist class like family.....And because capitalism is opposite of communism, the CAPITALISTS treat the workers like family.....

So all this rucus about Enron is because its a COMMUNIST company

actually yes. isnt it to each according to his need? u hardly need disneyland.
That's a very extreme form of communism. In fact, the mormons (sort of) practice such a form of communism. Ugh

both mormons and communists supposedly live idealogically. but the road they use to get their is pretty radically different.
