  • Wolfowitz has a big mouth

And whenever he opens it, a stampeding herd of elephants rolls out.

Asked why a nuclear power such as North Korea was being treated differently from Iraq, where hardly any weapons of mass destruction had been found, the deputy defence minister said: "Let's look at it simply. The most important difference between North Korea and Iraq is that economically, we just had no choice in Iraq. The country swims on a sea of oil."

That's a big egg on the face of the "it's not about oil" crowd.

I always knew oil had something to do with it.. Aznar just supported Bush, so a company like Repsol can get an oil contract.. I mean why not? But I still believe the people of Iraq were the top priority.
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

I think he wanted to say something a bit different, but it's just too funny. Good ol' Freud...
“Now we declare… that the law-making power or the first and real effective source of law is the people or the body of citizens or the prevailing part of the people according to its election or its will expressed in general convention by vote, commanding or deciding that something be done or omitted in regard to human civil acts under penalty or temporal punishment….” (Marsilius of Padua, „Defensor Pacis“, AD 1324)

                Killing people for oil?

I thought this was all about liberating the oppressed Iraqi people from a tolitarian regime.

                  It always has been.

So where does the oil fit in?

                            Isn't Wolfowitz a policy advisor?

If what Imran says is true, then he's making lots of money at the government's expense.
