I forgot to add something. Japher sort of beat me to the point.
The reason we do NOT need feminists is because women all already achieving milestones almost exponentially. Not many years ago it was common knowledge that a woman's job was to "cooking, cleaning, and going to church"
In not too long a time, women will be equal to men in numbers and not just in opportunity in almost all fields. There will be 50 50 representation in congress. And this is not due to feminism. The opportunities are opening up and the women are responding.
Feminism is counter-productive. All it's doing is what monkspider said, just putting people into groups.
"The first man who, having fenced off a plot of land, thought of saying, 'This is mine' and found people simple enough to believe him was the real founder of civil society. How many crimes, wars, murders, how many miseries and horrors might the human race had been spared by the one who, upon pulling up the stakes or filling in the ditch, had shouted to his fellow men: 'Beware of listening to this imposter; you are lost if you forget the fruits of the earth belong to all and that the earth belongs to no one." - Jean-Jacques Rousseau
This thread is growing so fast that I skipped reading the second half. Too bad if I missed something.
Let's start with saying that I'm a modern man who do a lot of "women stuff" at home. I do 30-70 % of the laundry, dishwashing and vaccuum cleaning, 90 of the shopping and cooking (because I'm a better cook than my wife) and still 95% of some of the traditional "male stuff" (painting the house, washing the car, carpenting etc). While my wife do most of the child care, I have still taken more paternal leave than the average Swede. I was at home alone for 3 months full time and 5 months half-time with my first kid and 6 weeks full time with the second. Off course that was only possible due to the social insurance system in Sweden. I paid my dues in form of taxes, so why not get something back?
Still I hate feminists (Off course there are several kinds of feminists. Now I'm talking of the kind that you hear most from in the media). Why? Because they promote positive discrimination based of gender. They refuse to understand or accept that people's behavior and personal priorities are a complex function of biology AND environment. They refuse to accept the biology factor and think you can form someone's personality from upbringing alone, thus saying that gender is a social construction. Then they use this theory to explain everything from rape and domestic violence to occupation statistics and wage differentials. And they think they can fix the system by ignoring the biology and make social constructions.
In Sweden, over 99% of the Board of Directors in stock exchange companies consist of men. Also, very close to 100% of the thrash pickup workers are men. Guess which of the 2 occupations where feminists demand that 40% should be women by law?

"Yeah, they won't get their husbands beer on demand. *****es don't know their rightful place. "
Actually they are too full of themselves to do their husband a kindness, as they are taught to be competitive based on gender, and getting their husband a beer doesn't jive with their position upon the pedistal.
So get your own damn beer Mike, and feel good about it...and since you're up...
'Since you're up' pisses me off too. What's really being said is, 'I'm not asking you to get off your pedistal, because what I'm asking takes so little extra effort, it's not really asking anything.'
'Since you're up' is for wimps.

But I'm not . Feminism is about equality. You've just been brainwashed to think otherwise.
First off, many feminists will say they want things to be equal just to justify their views, when really they have a bias against men. Secondly, the doctrine that we should be equal is equalism. Feminists say either they are for being equal because that's what they want you to believe, or they say that women should get better rights to make up for the "years of oppression."
Yes, that's what the majority of feminists believe . When feminists say they want equality, that is because they ACTUALLY want equality. To say they have a 'bias against men' is simply substituting your own bias because you want to keep women down and don't like these 'uppity' groups getting women where they don't belong (how do you like it?).
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Translation: What I say has value, what you say can be ignored.
No, the interpretion should be: It's getting late but I want to make my post before I go to bed.
I normally read much more than I write here. Many threads I read through without even posting.

People who think that women who like to serve their husbands are some type of fools are missing something. Some people (both men and women) enjoy serving others that they love. Feminism has taught an entire generation that service is a dirty word. My Thai girlfriend serves me even though I do not expect it or demand it. She likes it. And I enjoy serving her with things that she enjoys. I am sure that you understand this Lancer. Too bad that the radical femenists have convinced so many that a woman should strive to be like a man and claw their way to the top along with self centered men. That is one reason why I would not touch most American women. If I wanted to marry a man I would move to San Francisco.

Not at all. The "fool" is the one who believes all women should be servile because it is their place. One serving the other and vice versa, or one showing consideration to another and vice versa isn't a problem. Since you mentioned San Francisco and marrying a man, I could tell you about Andy and John... John is the best damn homemaker any guy could hope to find, and, ah hell, never mind.
The problem is "no, you can't get a side job or take an evening class or go out with a couple of your friends because your job is to have dinner ready at six and take care of the kids."
How two people freely and equally choose to define their relationship is one thing. The notion that one can bind the other to a specific role because "it's a woman's place" is another.
