“Now we declare… that the law-making power or the first and real effective source of law is the people or the body of citizens or the prevailing part of the people according to its election or its will expressed in general convention by vote, commanding or deciding that something be done or omitted in regard to human civil acts under penalty or temporal punishment….” (Marsilius of Padua, „Defensor Pacis“, AD 1324)
Which was about pushing Sharon to make some lame ass concessions, not about the dissolution of Israel.
Read the entire post. If you are going to link* the provovation of Israeli settlements or the like to 9-11**, than I am going to say that Arabs have been trying to push it into the sea for decades. The way to "solve" that problem would be to sell Israel out. Sharon's concessions are irrelevant. The Pals are the problem. They (and Syria et al.) have shown over the last few decades that they have no intention to accept an Israeli state.
*remember you connected the issues (Sharon tossaway remark). I could care less about it one way or the other. We are going to deal with our enemies regardless.
**A proposition, you haven't gone into any detail on and which I don't necessarily accept.

Where do you get that idea? Israel managed tp get deals with Egypt and Jordan without giving up its existance.
"Sharon's concessions are irrelevant. The Pals are the problem. They (and Syria et al.) have shown over the last few decades that they have no intention to accept an Israeli state."
The Palestinians accept it. The current problem is more with Sharon who is unwilling to dismantle a bunch of settlements. Arafat's second intifida is pure insanity, but he and Sharon owe each other nothing.

I'm falling for the escalation trap and you are falling for the appeasement trap. We shall see. Remember the predictions that the Arab "street" would rise because of the US Iraq invasion? Didn't happen.
It means that we support Isreal. It means that the Arabs want to eliminate it as a state. It means we won't sell them down the river.
hi ,
thanks GP
ans as long as the friendship last we shall continue to do research in some fields for the good old US of A

Yes, but you won't like that particular one: Haaretz.
I used to occasionally take a look into the jerusalem post, but it's just a tad bit too fascist for my taste.
