ok, people have been saying that it would be pointless to have a vote on it because the people don't know enough, is the average person in all the countries that ARE having one much better informed? i hardly think so. the government hasn't exactly been shouting from the rooftops about this one, very little effort has been made to explain it to the public, they're trying to sneak it through without giving the people a chance to have their say, it's completely undemocratic.

The problem is when a group of people are voted into power to make such decisions but then go against what they promised pre-election (eg Student Grants!) and start acting like a dictatorship.
There needs to be a system where the people have to vote on Major issues, or where thier vote carries a significant weighting...
Funny how some people can completely change their point of view...
Back to the subject : Blair is supposed to be more pro-euro than most UK Prime Ministers before him so there's some hope . Anyway, I think UK will become much closer of the EU one day or another, and probably adopt the Euro. Could take some time though
