Giant_Squid: The idea is that the average for each age is 100, and thus it is a different scale for each age group. The older people get, generally the more forgetful and slower of thought they get, thus to get a 100 average, it must be scaled up, when compared to a younger person. However it is the other way round for people under 21, who have not learned all the mental skills they will do.

112 - but I don't hold much credence with my results, considering I went a bit slowly... My mind is as sharp as, as sharp as... as sharp as a mussel!

Seems odd, because other IQ tests I have made (also English ones) rate me at about 130-135

and with a Dutch test I go from 120-141 (it was some insane test with 10 different rounds of one hour each luckily I could stop and go on whenever I wanted, anyway the results on the 10 tests varied a bit)

The questions were pretty dumb most of the time, and the time limit on each question is ridiculous,... for example filling in a certain amount of questions in 20 minutes would be a better choice...
This test is very advantageous for people with good visual capabilities!
For me too, I usually averagy in the 125-135 zone.
As You I had 11/12 for language but did very poorly on the logic questions for whitch I'm not too surprised.
I always have difficulties doing riddles and the 'train A starts in the station at 2o'clock..' type of questions in English, I just can't get my mind around those, it takes too long to 'translate' it to something my mind can work with.... I have the same problem trying to learn something from an English book, I have to read very slowly for the info to sink in and to make sure it's sticks.
If I'm tired, I can forget about it at all together.
Perhaps someone can answer this, could this have something to do with the fact that logic is handled by the right(?) side of the brain and language is done by the left-hand side?

BTW: how come some foreigners here did better then native english/americans on the language questions?

I completely agree with you. IQ tests are quite meaningless. It was kinda fun to mess around a bit.

Don't forget you can keep doing the test over and over again. Since the questions are the same, your score will improve. After messing around for the first time, I got a perfect score the second time I took it. But I didn't bother to post it in the thread.

this test should be for English ppl only. There are a lot of biased questions....even the quotes section was clearly biased.
