I don't know enough to tell by the countries when the globe was made, but:

Ohio Art Metal Globe Bank, Circa 1950s/1960s – made of tin with its original tin trap on the bottom and a lithographed message that reads, "World Bank – As You Save So You Prosper"

Alright, time for another picture I guess and this Israel question certainly deserves some looking into. It had confused me before but with some of the other evidence I thought it might be a zionist or Bible thumper who made the map . You'll notice PAL also written below Israel.

Obviously its not the most accurate of maps but give the guy a break its 5 inches tall. I figure while he may not be on top of changing borders at least he's not a psychic. Weird border between Syria and Iraq.

Fez, I'd love to see a picture of that.

        Azazel, you wish.

So logically the globe was made before 1918. Unless of course it's a copy.
          Can't be. Ireland is partitioned.

Well these are the facts: NW Thrace is not shown as part of Greece and it became part of Greece in 1918.

looks to me like India is still unified.

              Edit: whoops, yeah it can.

That's because the art on small tin globes is usually attrocious

It's a 1948 globe. India hasn't been subdivided and Sudan is still an Anglo-Egyptian Corporation.

Can you give us a shot of the Indian subcontinent? IIRC, the British withdrew from the area in 1948, and the names of the countries there would help date it.

So far, we seem to be looking at a 1947-48 date on this.

Sudan is called Anglo-Egyptian in the map? Iran is not called Persia?

I agree with the people that is guessin it is a post-WWII map, but only a few years after...

Or maybe just at the end of the WWII.

                      "Anglo-Egyptian Sudan"??

                      "Trans-Jordan"?? (or TR. JORDAN)

Those are old names. Why not "Ultima Thule" while we're at it?

                      And is India partitioned??!!!

Me thinks the maker was maybe a bit behind current events of that time

Maybe the map is just after the ONU was designing (or approving) the partition between Israel and Palestine, but before the Israel's War of Independence...
