A good game, but I think I had better land at the beginning, found him, and then relentlessly attacked for about 140 turns. More of a slow grind than anything stunning that is for sure.
Good Game !!First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win.

Hear that PETE!!!
Sure did, as I said and maintain, that is one thing that makes you a good addition here. It also makes you a far better player than some of the so-called top players.
So..I now can look Pete in the eyes and say I am playing on an "even" or somewhat even plaaaaying field
I think you will do well too.
The sure thing is taking over another players game be it the first place or the last place is a good thing. You get to see thier style of play, other players style of play under different terrain, opponents, timelines and rankings. All in all a win win for all and a must for the strategic player. Your learning curve gains are expotenial this obviously creates more enjoyment. This is a must for the causual player not just the hardliners.
I have taken over dying AI's to winning players civ's. They all had there adavantages but the dying one's were not only the most challenging obviously, but for the most part fun too. You have to save a game from certain death and all the players benefit from that, but also had the chance to test strategies you may not do in other games where each move is critical.
All in all
Ber if you have time to play a casual game email me, I'm up for it.“The Communist Manifesto was correct…but…we see the privileges of the capitalist bourgeoisie yielding…to democratic organizations…In my judgment…success lies in a steady [peaceful] advance…[rather]…than in…a catastrophic crash."Eduard Bernstein

Wow, is that really the ettiquette around here. I like to stay clear of the AI as much as possible. Unless they hate me for some reason, I generally won't mess with em.
In my opinion, it is a mistake to waste your resources and time attacking the Artificial Intelligence postions in a challenge match.

No, it isn't. Birdman is joking (I think).
You will never know for sure.

I did try in my latest game against Quinns - but I recon that I launched my war(s) too late - as I lost the game even though I did take many good cities from my AI enemy before Quinns killed me off.
I did it again in my game against Hatschy. He had a larger population than me during most of the game until I started and won my war against the nearest AI. That was partly a success, I had to go to war anyway as my AI neighbour was an active slaver, so I had nothing to loose from the start. Well I lost that game...... but just because I did get too excited and ........ I was too sure that I couldn't loose.
I used it aginst in my first challengegame against Math - with success for the first time - I catched up with him killing off two of the AIs (nearly) and later I used that nuke-lesson Hatschy thought me in the game mentioned above...
I did it again in my game against Ricketyclik - I won "my" match long time ago and are actually helping him with his problems with "his" AI (gifts as massproduction, Coorp Rep etc.....) - I dare that cause I AM going to win my first game (!) by Alien Victory. I can't loose this time.
And I am using it against Gumpold in the SL challengematch. I guess I have a 3½ lead in the PG right now. If I manage to break my AI enemy fast, there might be some bonus points for The Ancients Team there.First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win.

Well it is a bit risky to mess with the AI.
But if they ever come after me first, I would take as many slaves as possible and try to kill a few cities.
But even then I might try for peace every so often,
unless it was real easy to wip em.If it ain't broke, find a bigger hammer.

I too use what Birdy says. The trick I found was to attack them (AI) early. You end up with lots of troops and a bit slower science but the gains in the midway of the game more than make up for it.“The Communist Manifesto was correct…but…we see the privileges of the capitalist bourgeoisie yielding…to democratic organizations…In my judgment…success lies in a steady [peaceful] advance…[rather]…than in…a catastrophic crash."Eduard Bernstein

Challenge Match checkMate vs Nimrod is finished
I won!!
Nimrod scouted my land very well and made a tremendous run at me with cannons. Some one hundred cannons blasted away at may land for quite a while. Some how I held up to that long enough to reach Facism. Those orange dressed dudes just took care of bussiness pretty quick after that. I was pretty far ahead in science. If it ain't broke, find a bigger hammer.

Well, might as well make it dual-duel. I never tried that yet. Sounds lke a great way to get hammered.
Set everything down the middle just like the standard settings.
But one twist to the dual-duel. Make it orang-pink with AI. Not blue-orange no ai.If it ain't broke, find a bigger hammer.
