    • I think I'll just send it. The english is simple enough.

      • I think we should prepare a follow up email that assumes Imperio rejects 'free' Guns along the lines of...
        Dear Imperio,

We are most concerned about your failure to trade us Gunpowder as agreed in our recent treaty. We do not think this is acceptable behaviour towards your ally against Templars. Please give us the tech as agreed, else we shall reluctantly withold Jerusalem from you as compensation.

        Best Regards

        Team RB
...so that we can step up the pressure ASAP if needed.

It would be great to get a Spanish translation of the second message, though we should probably send the friendly message right away.

        • "Friendly" email send, with modifications as suggested. I didn't mention PAL yet because Imperio didn't talk about them in their proposal.

@Swiss: I disagree, we shouldn't inform them that we plan to break the treaty. I'd just not reply.

          • No, we're not planning to break the treaty: in this scenario, they've broken the treaty by failing to hand over Guns. Jerusalem is our recompense for their breach of contract

Much better to make every effort to get Guns now that to huff silently until we capture Jericho.

            • I agree with sooooo. If they refuse we just stay silent (after all that's what we got from them for the last year) and don't hand over Jerusalem.

              • Well that's hardly the attitude that got us MC from Templars and a fair price from Banana for Iron, is it?

                • If we tell them that we hold back on Jerusalem if we don't get GP, they will gift GP straight away. For us to research GP in a mere 3 turns, I am hoping they will turn our request for GP down, so we can keep Jerusalem.

                  • I agree Swiss, but we also don't need to tip our hand about Jerusalem either - it's much better if Imperio spends ten turns making buildings and not units.

                    • Like they have the last 10turns....

                      • Imperio logged in and turned down our request for gunpowder. But they still have until the end of the turn.

Good...now I won't have to argue with everyone that we should still raze/replace Jerusalem.

Is it too late for us to turn research back up for Gunpowder?

                          • Well we could always put research up to 100% now. If they give us gunpowder this turn it will make us change it. However, seeing as Imperio can see our research, we may as well not tell them how long it would take us to research the tech.

                            • Well...if we delay Gunpowder by one turn I'm not sure we will be able to switch back to Bureaucracy during the golden age due to the five turn minimum against civics swaps. Actually, that is not true, we could swap to Nationhood before Gunpowder comes in. It delays drafting by a turn but maybe that's okay.

                              • How about we dial up to 100% late in the turn and then drop it to 0% again as soon as the turn ticks over. The only risk her is that everyone ends the turn and we miss the rollover point.
