Is there only one best date for all games, or is it per condition? In other words, will there be a winner for every condition (i.e. Conquest, Domination, Culture, etc.) or will there by only one victor with the victory condition of "Any"?Originally posted by Nugog
Victory Conditions!
For this first game we will accept any victory.
Rankings will be judged on a combination of the year of victory and final score.

2nd condition - score
3rd condition - if scores are tied - earlier date of victory..
These conditions will changeas we go along, but initially we will take any victory.
It will be interesting to see what paths everyone takes to victory...........I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Great. Now all I have to do is wait quietly in the corner for 3.13 and hope that I can actually start the next one.We need seperate human-only games for MP/PBEM that dont include the over-simplifications required to have a good AI

Cultural decay which isnt in a mod folder so that shouldnt be the cause.I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. CulturalDecayOriginally posted by Nugog
Where is this one SpencerH?
_____________
CulturalDecay makes two significant changes to culture. First, any time a city is lost (conquered,
destroyed, etc), it sends a "Culture Shock" through the region, resulting in the loss of 50-75% of the culture
generated by the city. Note, this culture is NOT the culture visible in the city screen, it is the culture
that determines the city boundaries, and which Empire will be able to work a square. The Culture Shock makes
it much easier for an Empire to exert control over squares surrounding a city when it is conquered.
The second thing it does (which gives it its name) is cause squares outside of an Empire's borders to
slowly lose culture over time. This loss (5% of the square's culture every turn, resulting in a half-life of
roughly 14 turns) makes it harder for an Empire to regain lands that they lost in the past.
Installation
____________
CulturalDecay should NOT be installed in your main Civ IV location, as it will overwrite necessary files.
Instead, it should be installed at: "My Documents\My Games\Civilization 4".
CulturalDecay makes use of the DataStorage mod to track culture generation on a square. Because it needs
to store the information every turn, using this mod on games in progress will not result in optimal behaviour
(although there should be no problems doing so).
The files go into customassets/python/ - 3 files
and into customassets/python/entrypoints - 1 file
History
_______
v0.2
- removed the cultural smoothing effect
- added the Culture Shock effect
- switched to using DataStorage to store cultural data
- borrowed some code from Mylon to determine Cultural boundaries
v0.1
- first releaseWe need seperate human-only games for MP/PBEM that dont include the over-simplifications required to have a good AI

SpencerH - let me check - but I have a fuynny feeling this is why you cannot open the save......I don't know why he saved my life. That would be kinda ironic since I'm not sure if it even works with BtS. It was a good mod though. I never liked the vanilla civ4 handling of culture. We need seperate human-only games for MP/PBEM that dont include the over-simplifications required to have a good AI

Question: How did you try this with the Steam Patch? Is it possible to apply the retail patch to the Steam purchased game?Originally posted by Carch
I just tried the save with 3.03 (retail CD, Civ IV + BTS) installed, and it worked. I used the standalone patch (Civ4BeyondTheSwordPatch3.03_B.exe) to patch the game up to 3.03.
With the 3.02 standalone patch (Civ4BeyondTheSwordPatch3.02.exe) it did not work. The Steam version also did not work.
This sucks because I'd much rather not use 3.03, since it is basically a bad build. Oh well, I guess I'll wait for the upcoming patch before I join the tourney.
If Steam is my issue (And I've heard that Steam 'shows' as a Mod but does allow you to join multiplayer games) I'm up the proverbial creek permanently. Heck the reason I bought via Steam was for a legitimate NoCD version of the game.---- "What gunpowder did for war, Blake has done for the AI" - Diadem ----
