      i ran through all the test games you gave me. anything that is password protected or has locked modified assets causes a failure to load.

        I also just tried loading the save with a clean install of Civ IV + Beyond the Sword retail CD's, patched to 3.0.2. Failed the same way, with the "locked assets" warning. (I originally bought the Civ IV & Beyond the Sword CD's, then recently bought the Steam versions to play on my DVD-less laptop. )

          I also have the load problem. I used retail versions of the game and expansion, and tried both with and without no-cd patch. I will try again later today on a different PC...

            I was able to load 3 of the 7 sample files sent to me. (details in email).

            As for the source of my game, This install was a Steam double purchase. CIV + BTS both from Steam.

                        i dont use your patch and couldnt load either. the problem is from the secuirty features, those of us who got the test files couldnt load any password protected or with lock modified assets checked.

                          replaced your patch with original CvGameCoreDLL.dll
                          but unfortunately still the same error
                          "the save file you have selected is protected to ensure the assets in your mod folder have not been changed" Load failed...

                            I had a thought today at work... I did also edit my *.ini file for savegames everyturn. But I don't think that would trigger it would it?
