Victory Conditions!

For this first game we will accept any victory.

Rankings will be judged on a combination of the year of victory and final score.

The winner of this game will recieve a 2 month PolyPlus subscription!

In addition the winner will also recieve 10 Hall of Fame votes, 2nd place will recieve 6 votes and 3rd place will recieve 2 votes.

• Please play each League Game once only, saving if need be at the end of each playing session, until you reach a victory or defeat condition.

• You may only submit one final save per game, please ensure it is your first attempt at the game, and that it was played without reloads.

• Please email your final save (xxx.CivBeyondSwordSave (where xxx is your Apolyton username and League Game Name (e.g RobWorhamNovice#1)) and your replay file (xxx.CivBeyondSwordReplay) to

• You will receive confirmation of your successful submission of your save as soon as possible after it is received by the tournament admins.

• Submissions close 28 days after the opening save has been released, from the time this thread was created. Check the League Game Thread Poll timer to see how much time is left before submissions have to be in.

Is anyone else not able to get this save file to load? If I try to load directly from the file itself (i.e. doubleclicking on the downloaded file), BTS crashes (note, this happens alot even during regular games under the 303 patch). If I attempt to load the save from within the game (either by starting a random game and doing CTRL-L, or by attempting to do a Load Game from the main menu), the save file never appears to me as an option even though I stuck it in the same place as all my other save games.

I am sure I am doing something incorrectly, but I cannot figure out what. Any thoughts?

2 Problems

Trying to load the save from inside the game won't work since the cases of some letters are wrong in the file extension.

league2 bc-4000.civbeyondswordsave should be league2 bc-4000.CivBeyondSwordSave

Then no matter how I try to load it, either from the Load Game in the main menu, or loading a save after starting a new game, I get a message box that says that the file has been protected to ensure that my assets haven't been modified, or something like that. Then it exits. I don't have modified assets.

Ok - still trying to figure this out - we have had a few other people try and load the save and have done so with no issues.

So - some more info please - are you on 3.03 or 3.02?

Do you have a store bought version or the Steam version?

Do you have Solvers unofficial patch loaded?

None of these should be a problem - but some more info would be helpful.

Probably a stupid question but how do I find out if I'm using 3.03 or not....

Not a silly question at all - load up BtS - main menu go Advanced, then "About this Build" - that will give you the info.

There is a problem with file name extension capitalization. While we're working to resolve the issue with our forums, in the meanwhile you should rename the file so its extension is not civbeyondswordsave but rather CivBeyondSwordSave.

If you have already downloaded the save for the league that you wish to participate in, follow Solver's directions above.

If you have not already downloaded the save, note that the download link has been updated so that as downloaded the save contains the fully proper "CivBeyondSwordSave" extension.
