I am generating the maps for the next lot of games ( going live this weekend (hopefully)) so it will be interesting to see if you still have a problem then.
Failing that, you may just have to wait until the imminent BtS patch from Firaxis (due real soon I hear

This game still has 2.5 weeks to run - no need to panic.

One suggestion I have if you haven't tried this already, have you, nugog, a couple others having no trouble, and some of these folks having trouble all join an MP game (don't actually have to start it, just join the game in the lobby or what have you). It will give you a brief message about modified assets if they are really modified (ie, if it's a true problem and not something phantomish) for each person who has the issue. If anyone or nobody shows up with modified assets in the MP game, then there is a much more interesting problem...Originally posted by RobWorham

I just tried the save with 3.03 (retail CD, Civ IV + BTS) installed, and it worked. I used the standalone patch (Civ4BeyondTheSwordPatch3.03_B.exe) to patch the game up to 3.03.
With the 3.02 standalone patch (Civ4BeyondTheSwordPatch3.02.exe) it did not work. The Steam version also did not work.
This sucks because I'd much rather not use 3.03, since it is basically a bad build. Oh well, I guess I'll wait for the upcoming patch before I join the tourney._/\ C

That's what I read in a message from one of the devs (here or on Civfanatics?). 3.03 was supposed to be only a change in DirectX for Vista or something, but instead the build that was put in the patch was made with some newer code that wasn't supposed to be in there. Hence the crashing bugs in Civilopedia, problems with multi-unit combat animations and other bugs._/\ C

I'm really hoping 3.13 comes out before I start the next game. 3.03 is probably the worst Firaxis patch ever

would you consider extending the deadline for Game #1 to some point after the release of the 3.13 patch (assuming this isn't already the case)? hopefully that will fix the load problems, and i'd still like to participate in that first game.Originally posted by Nugog

In the interests of equality we have decided to keep Game #1 as 3.03 (and 3.02?) only.
The logistics of trying to compare 3.03 saves with 3.13 would just be too complex.
When 3.13 is finally released, please submit your Game #1 save before patching to 3.13.
To this end we have decided to delay the release of Game #2 until the 3.13 patch comes out so as many people can play as possible.
We hope you understand our decision and thank you in advance for your co-operation.
