This is still in a [edit: topical] forum. I was thinking that discussion about the general PBEM community would happen- ie congrats on the new kid, condolences on your health problems, X is the best beer ever made, etc. Nothing's really gotten out of hand so far, but it did seem to be spiraling into a blog on people's diet. (We also had an arrangement at the beginning to move the thread around to keep things fresh.)

One suggestion I'd make is not to post about food or drink unless you're actually imbibing in RL... er, wait- that might not work so well actually ...

OT usually refers to "off topic" and what I think you mean is that this thread is in an on-topic forum.

In previous threads labelled "something or other tavern" it was a pretty regular occurance for people to pretend to get together, order a drink, something to eat as if they were sitting in a bar -- along with the discussions as you describe above.

If this is incorrect for this forum, my mistake, and my apologies, as I posted with what I thought was appropriate for the forum.

I was in, and being new, enjpyed, what was it called, where you play "X" turns of the same civ

it was fun

but once you get up in the years a turn could take say 10-15 turns per player and timewise an hour or more to play

it was great

I would enjoy that again with dedicated players
