A scout comes running into the city at such speeds that the people of Holy Mountain become concerned that banshees are about. After a stop at the palace the scout finds a local inn and orders a yak-ale. The rumours spread like wildfire across the town and along the trade routes to the other cities of the mongolian empire. Apparently while exploring the scout group encountered a handful of survivors from a mongolian hunting party. Nothing more can be learned from the whispering and vivid discussions abounding until finally a palace official walks into the town high ground and announces:

In a statement today Temujin declared the UNPROVOKED ATTACK on a Mongolian warrior expedition in the vicinity of carthagian borders an act of treacherous cowardice and malignant hostility. The carthagian claim that the Mongolian explorer/hunter party was planning an attack on carthagian workers nearby was dismissed as totally unfounded. As according to survivors; the workers in question could easily have left the area by newly finished roads or been defended by local troops. Instead the warmongering savages of carthage viciously ambushed and killed the Mongolian expedition who were innocously resting on a grassy plain.
Despite this barbaric behaviour, Mongolia has accepted carthage's groveling request for peace despite strong protests from Mongolian military officers. Temujin has announced that carthage has doomed its diplomatic relationship with Mongolia for centuries to come and warns any carthagian troops that if they are found within sight of Mongolian borders they will be destroyed without hesitation.

As the message ends and the official leaves the whispering and disagreements come to a unison cry for Revenge!
