In any case, there seems to be plenty of meat on the single player bone, so I won't really complain (at least not until I write the review next week). In the meantime, we've got lots of screens below of my latest attempt at world domination. Check 'em out and tune in early next week for the full review

One thing that they can't do anymore is irrigate land without a fresh supply of water. Cities along the coast had better also be near a river or lake or inland sea if you want them to grow quickly. Once you discover electricity you can irrigate anywhere. Cities on rivers become even more important as a result. Even more so since they don't require aqueducts to grow beyond a certain size. Rivers run between the map tiles now and act as impediments rather than avenues of travel. Mountains and jungles are also off limits to wheeled units unless they are traveling on a road.Alex

Each civilization has two characteristics associated with it that provide unique bonuses and reveal a bit about their playing style (when handled by the AI at least).
