New PC.IGN preview

Mountains and jungles are also off limits to wheeled units unless they are traveling on a road

This is my favorite quote as it shows that a lot of work has been shown in giving the game strategy. Forests and mountain ranges really are natural barriers now.

Specifically, it makes scorched earth retreating behind a mountain range a viable defensive option. Damn cool.

Hasn't happened to me yet tonight, but PC.IGN has done that at random intervals to me before, they're just random advertisements, a good portion of which are about Civ3 though

I think that theres enough info here to complete Kyller's leaders thru the ages, and the list of wonders (Sistine Chapel is in and it makes people happy)

Little mention other then that cities can't be bought. Must not be that useful or incredibly toned down in strength as neither Civ3.com or any of the previews to date have mentioned it much.

Look at this.

Panzer's stats: 16/8/3... so it seems modern units are MUCH more powerful than ancient ones.
