Wow - this was wild and woolly in terms of trading.

Here's is what happend. GoW had actually put WC on the table last turn - and I somewhat 'unknowingly' accepted. We did not have WC last turn. They had yet to accept the deal, so I thought we were going to talk more. Well they accepted on their turn, so we have it.

Unaware of that little event, jon and I have a chat about strategy, then go into a chat with Trip and BFM of Lux, where we garee to complete the Myst for WC deal.

The save had arrived, so I go to play - and we already have WC. Go back and talk to Trip - discuss the issue - he agrees to 20 gold plus cancellation of the 1gpt remaining on the last deal - 4 turns remaining - 4 gold. At this point - I thought it was worth the good will. Besides, RP is also shopping mysticism around.

This turn, GoW gifted us Horseback Riding, which we now have as well. I sent Mysticim the other way. Now Ghengis also wants contact with GS. This we need to discuss with GS.

So we have WC and HB Riding, and 24 gold for Mysticism. I also gifted WC and Mysticism to GS. It wouldn't let me do it for HB Riding - presumably since we just got it.

Now - we also have RP (Spain) showing up as contact - I'm really not sure how we got that - I presume that GoW gave it to us - but I have not seen it on any of the trade screens - and I actually didnt think we could do that until WE too had writing. They put Mysticism on the trading table. I sent it back to them unaccepted.

Regarding research - we need to talk to GS - I put it on hold for one turn. Nets us 10 gold. Hey - the treasury gets a little boost of 34 gold over these two turns.

Mathematics was 20 turns at 90%, and Polytheism was 29 turns.

Souther worker moved to wheat tile to begin mining next turn.

Warrior in the north is one move away from the capitol whci will grow next turn - will be interesting to see what happens with disorder.

See F/A in a bit for the communications I think we need after this little flurry of activity. And I thought my birthday was exciting.
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

Yes - I know what you mean. That is why I may have missed us getting warrior code the turn before. This deal with GoW is complicated - and the last part - contact with GS, hinges on what they (GS) say. Oh well - we got the techs we wanted - just not sure how this is all going to turn out.

And I certainly hope GS appreciates what a good partner we are!!! Jon - I will leave it up to you to make this point to them, OK. My letter to them (FA thread) simply lays out the facts, with a small bit of PR. The real heavy-duty PR I will leave up to you.

          turn already played.

worker started building a road. the other worker building another mine.

Not sure what you wanted to do with the floating warrior in S. estonia

as suspected we can get up to size 3 with no problems. The warrior up north has nothing useful to do.

Lux did offer up 24 gold for mysticism. And then we had to offer up communications with roleplay and glory of war.

                yes contact is given.

GhengisFarb is gettin' on me for lack of diplomatic contact.

Unfortunately many on our team work, and get busy. I have a lot going on right now. I did send a PM back to him explaining our lack of contact. We did send communicae with GS on our last turn. So that should shut them up . Like I said, I'm not the best person for diplomatic relations.

                  But your style is effective!!!

(I find Ghengis really pushy about things.)

                        1725bc turn played.

Both nothern cities produce temples next turn - and should go to settler production. Looks like the build order will work out nicely.

Not so for Dissidentville - it has 3 turns to producing a worker - and 10 turns to grow. It just moved to size two. I say stick with the worker. We will need him to clear jungle.

I started moving the wheat warrior back to his lookout, when I realized he is the only one there. The choekpoint warrior started back down.

Now the trades. Passed on the GS contact to RP.

However, for GoW, resent the trade, putting in Myst and 15 gold. We owed them the 15 gold from the earlier deals, but I wanted to seal the deal for math as well by tying the two deals together. If GoW really wants contact with GS - and they will now that RP has it - they will send the deal back. I will write the appropriate kissy-kissy letter to Ghengis.

Now - while playing I also got a pm from Trip and we chatted for abit. I was trying to nail down another deal for GS contact. They do not have writing, so we cannot deal with them for this. He said they will have math in a few turns and said he would like to trade. I said - hmmm. He wanted to know about our deals with Gow and RP. I said we were talking, but it was mostly Diss and Jon so I wasn't sure what was up. They want preferred trading status (whatever the h*** that means). I said I would do my best . I also said we would consider a cash deal for contact with GS. I want to trade it to them before RP or GoW does.

Trip also said they were having a diffciult time with Neu D. ???

That's it. And oh yes - the treasury is growing. we are all going to get big bonuses and stock options next year.

                          sounds good.

and yes Lux and Nee Demo are still going at it.

A question is where in the world is legoland? They are doing good in points. They must have hit a hut with a settler.

I suspect they are on an island to themselves - farther west. And yes - a settler - or some great food producing sites, without any external pressure from other civs.

still being isolated isn't all that great. They have had no tech trading. Usually it takes longer to build up when you are isolated like that. Until you can build a good number of cities.

You're right about the tech trading part. Imagine where we would be without it.

But then, I bet Legoland has a similar contact with the next continent as we do - over a straight of land. Probably with RP or Neu D.
