          You guys.

The while you are waiting blurbs are unique every time you post, care to repeat the blurb you're talking about?

LOL - I forgot to change my 'Poly sig (now done)

I just caught a glimpse of the quote as the post took effect really quickly - but it was Tolkein in an old interview giving (I think) the origins of the name Minas Tirith

I dunno what you guys are talking about...?

I'll go look in the embassy...

Edit: what the heck, I'll go look in all the embassies.

like this: (except the "something to think about" was a quote from Tolkein on how he came up with the name Minas Tirith for LOTR

                    • Like this, eh?

Death. Destruction. Disease. Horror. That's what war is all about.
That's what makes it a thing to be avoided.

                      • Yes. The quote database is notorious for a mindnumbing abundance of Star Trek quotes, few of which are really quotable. We compiled a list of the quotes you have in the SMAC text files, but I don't think the admins ever added them to the database even after I had toiled for a couple of hours to format them properly.

                          Oh no they're not!

I was around when Kirk was just starting to save the galaxy. This stuff is immortal (to people like me).

                          • Oh, and certainly there are TNG quotes there too, from the time I was a bright-eyed child. But it's as if someone's dumped entire scripts in there.

                            • I see that the Angels have pulled out of a posible Ind Econ for Flex trade (roleplaying, "in character" that the embargo we are proposing cramps free flow of information - neat argument)

How about offering Gene Splicing for Industrial Economics, straight up, no embargo (only Morgan doesn't have it, and they'll (Angels) will get it from the gaians in 5 years anyway - we can even say that, 'cos they'll know it already)

(I know I was promoting a Soc Psych exchange, but it doesn't sound so desperate when we ask for a level 2 tech - Industrial Economics (opens the path to Environ Econ) for our level 3, instead of asking for a measly level 1 tech)

                              • Yeah, I'd go with that. Better getting something out of it than nothing.
