  • Given those choices, I say go with Doc: Mobility, because it makes the Angels happy, and if we can steal it from Yang, we get to switch to Social Psych. Applied Physics is also useful, but Progenitor Psych is pretty worthless at this point.

    • We should discuss longterm research plans later, when more Gaians are on. Perhaps a leap towards adaptive econmics can be made in 10-20 years with help of Angels?

      • I will be out for 24-30 hours, easily short enough to play the turn, but if you want to get it out sooner, I won't be here to do it.

        • Plan of Action for 2138

Carefully chase Yang's rover, which ran away at the very end of the turn.

          Rush crawlers as energy permits.

Our westernmost city will be growing soon and is a good candidate to produce a colony pod, even if we can't use it for a few turns. By that time, it can be in position. If we don't make a CP there soon, we'll have a doctor instead, and still may have one for a few turns.

The year when we can build the HGP is imminent, and will probably come before our other artifact gets home. The math:

          1 HGP = 160 minerals now.
          1 artifact = 50 minerals
          5 probe gimps = 40 minerals
          2 crawlers (in 2142, at latest) = 48 minerals
That leaves us a deficit of 22 minerals. We can cover that by sacrificing a probe team (12 minerals), using turns of production at the SP base (4 minerals each), and paying ECs (4 each). Therefore, we should have the HGP no later than 2143, if all goes well and it is still available.

No map for now - my internet connection is impaired and I am tired.

          • No harm in saving the other AA for a rainy day, if we don't need it now/no time. I'll try to put up some graphics from the end-turn save later if CT doesn't get to it. I haven't looked at it myself.

            • One note, if we are producing something, and ten minerals will not be accumlated- put it as secret project, and switch is to original production as it nears 10 minerals accumulated. I believe this is what Morgans are doing - well why don't we play that game to? Oh, and use AA if needed to complete a project - we should grab at least two secret projects.

              • We might get 2 projects...who knows? The Morgan thing could also have been to try and trigger the AI to build projects. They may be thinking of killing a soft neighbor, like Zak, and making University slaves. Not to mention picking up a free project in the conquered base. I don't know many players who know that strategy though....

                • Turn's in! I'll play it when I'm ready, sometime tomorrow (that is, less than 24 hours from now).

                  • Plan of Action for 2139

In 2139, we can rush supply crawlers at 3 bases within a turn's move of Gaia's Landing (including Gaia's Landing). We will then be able to contribute 72 minerals towards a SP from them, 50 from our artifact, and up to 40 more from Probe Gimps. This is enough to seize a 20-row SP, including the HGP, in 2140!

We can carefully chase down Yang with our probe team and two mind worms, and try to gain infiltration, if possible.

Our northwestern mind worm found fungus again, and so can make great strides exploring Yang's territory and harassing his units.

                    • These are great news . If Morgan doesn't start it this year, we got HGP . Time for some expansion then. Also, we might try to break this fungus with foil - we should do it when foil has two movement points available to run off if IoD spotted. With any luck, even in that case, IoD will move north, to nearest base (Hive base should be in range of IoD). Why not move it NW in 2139, and then try to move north in 2140.

                          • So we've got HGP next turn?
                            DAMN good!

                            Orders:
I miss Smacsim's detailed maps, maybe one day he will teach me to make some of them too..

We must be quite careful chasing the rover - you can never know what the AI will brain out (it is much of random)

About MW in the far N - let him explore the fungus (and ONLY)

About foil - I understand it's moving to intercept AA...
So I have 2 questions - why isn't the AA guarded?
We risk losing it to NL..

Also I see 4 still impact pods to the N from Gaian lands..
We should make some effort in popping them - but maybe later, when we establish our next row of bases (after HGP)

I suggest we don't go for any more SP's right now.. till we hit the 2nd B-Drone limit..

And after all - I must say that the land to N seems quite empty after lot of the movement in the previous years..
It should get at least one scout (not SL)..

                                Build the HGP

Start other two bases on CPs

Move unity foil north through sea fungus, as explained in the annual report

Heal northwestern mind worm if no enemy units are spotted; else, kill them or retreat, depending on combat odds and numbers. The mind worm is vulnerable to Yang's rovers, but will be so unless we surround it with fungus and rocky terrain, in which case it's not good as a scout/skirmisher. By the way, Yang has the jungle (big surprise).

No map for now because I am tired and my internet connection is impaired at the moment.
