  • Plan of Action for 2137

Receive IA, research Biogenetics. What next? I say Social Psych.

Switch all production to supply crawlers.

Plan to step on Yang in the north.

Note that at the end of the turn, the Hive rover in the north moved one tile and killed our rover, receiving significant damage.

Angels are lobbying for Doctrine: Mobility - they claim it is part of their joint research project - I said we shall consider it, but we need more information. If they agree research Social Pysch fine by me. Too bad about our rover, I hope Hive rover will near fungus.
If we intend to probe rape Yang, we should seriously consider what will we do foil? Should we risk entering fungus and destruction or not?

      • So do you think the Angels are connected by land to the Hive? If so, why do they want us to study Mobility? They can just steal it from Hive. Odd. We should definately study SoPsych if available.

CT, could you turn fog-of-war off for future screenshots? It makes planning moves easier. Also, did you notice that only the University had an SP started? Where did the Morganite SPs go?

            • We should not send our northern probe team any closer to the last known position of the Hive rover until we've done something to protect it. If we move closer, the Hive rover will just eat our probe team. What we can do with it is move forward 1 to scout, try to grab the rover if we find it (after we've built up a few ECs), or move back if no units are in sight. We can have the mind worm around to take care of the rover if it approaches during Yang's turn.

Fog of war was on when I got the turn, and had been off on previous turns. Someone's been screwing with the game preferences.

I wonder of the Angels know if Yang has Doc: Mobility. Furthermore, I wonder if Yang actually has Doc: Mobility. That rover may just be an initial unit. Its high morale makes me particularly suspicious of this.

              • It looks like a laser on that rover? If so, they have mobility.

Their likely techs, as far as I can guess, are:

                Loyalty
                Applied Physics
                Mobility
InfoNets (just guessing, but they like to trade for it)
                NonLin Math: maybe
                Flex: maybe
                SocPsych: maybe
                PlaNets: maybe

Hopefully we will know soon. I agree that moving that probe forward isn't too helpful without the worm coming too.

Just how damaged was their rover? Could it retreat? If damaged, it will most likely return to base for healing, or heal in the field, meaning we might be able to sneak up there right now with the worm/probe

                • I couldn't tell because the combat flashed by too quickly to follow very well. Yang's rover should be damaged about 50%, but I'm not sure if it lost a movement point or not.

The CMN might have gifted a 2-1-2 to Yang without granting Yang the prerequisite techs.

For the last time, every human faction has a land connection to Hive. Our continent is a pared of the x-shaped supercontinent Additionally, every faction can possibly have a land connection to one of other AIs. Unfortunately, our eastern bridge is nonexistant, untill we raise land.
If they don't agree to research treaty and explain us purpose of their beeline I suggest we decline. A good turn of action would be if we probe Mobility from them, and then trade it to Angels.

They were probably trying others to change their plans and/or use SP for accumlating minerals for sth which tech will they receive in future. Perhaps they got Social Psych-> and used projects to accumulate mins for them, one turn ahead. They certainly got us confused.

Gifting 3 or 4 2-1-2s would be significant - this doesn't explain how did Zak have a higher military rating than Yang for some time. It is possible that Yang researched it. At least we know we will have one technology for probing.

                      • Well it's usually the first thing Yang researches. Of all the factions, the Hive is least useful to us until airpower, from a research perspective. It just means we should consider the effect that bloating our research department with military techs will have. Unless we build units with that tech, we'll remain low in the power charts (important to intimidation strategy to be higher), and slow in the research charts.

                        • We should first infiltrate them to see how are they doing before discussing Yang. When we have infiltrated him, we can make longterm plans for Yang. This way, it is just speculation. But his units may present a nuisance, forcing us to defend north constantly.

                          • Turn's in! However, we have something weird going on with the Angels right now and I don't think we're ready to finish the turn this early.

                              • It is successful, but our research options after Biogenetics are Mobility, Progenitor Psych and Applied Physics. So nothing from social psych - also two of this technologies Yang possibly has, and the third one is reserched by Angels. I picked PP and our tech cost is 162 and breakthrough is in 12 years - 10 is we switch to wealth. EDIT: Morgans have started TheVirtual World?
