  • I say we just ignore them when they moan about it, which they will invariably do. There is no rule that says 'these are our pods, and these are up for grabs'. They are inflicting that rule on us and hoping we'll take the bait and try to argue the case. Better to just pop the pods and talk like nothing is happening. Of course, it might be better to get IA before that happens. So how do we get it in the next two turns? Beyond that it's just a waste of time for our rover to sit by the free pod.

Wait a minute, when are we supposed to get IA? If it is in two turns we won't get it: because: 1) we need to receive next turn 2)they played their turn before the new propsoal of trade was posted, so tehy probably won't gif it to us

      • Also, Morgan started TWP, TGHP and TME.Why was not this mentioned more clearly? It is obvious taht we chance to build those projects, since it is very likely Morgan has accumulated enough Supply Crawlers to rush build them - or at least two of them. I doubt we can build HGP,e specially when Moragn is buidling, and we do not have neither technology or capability to rush build any project. We are doomed

        • We're not doomed. I cannot imagine Morgan Industries having enough ECs and/or crawlers ready to build 3 SPs at this time. Most likely they have made a tactical error by starting what they cannot finish in one turn. We will soon know. If they don't finish all three, they have goofed, IMO. It is possible that they have the resources, but it's pretty unlikely.

As to getting IA, I can't remember how many turns, but it's not a whole lot. The point is that we need the trade complete immediately, or near to. The longer we dither in negotiations, the less important it is, and our pod-popping on Angel land should probably wait till it's done.

          • They will rpobably finish HGP - for ICSing and run WP as their second priority. ME is probably just to confuse us. Howver tehy rae likely to complete two projects, and they will surely aim at HGP - which makes our plans obsolete.

            • Relax, we knew that Morgan would probably have first pick of the SPs. Fortunately, we'll have a chance to abort our HGP run - we can (hopefully) pick either Biogenetics or Social Psych as our next tech. If we want to continue pursuing the HGP, we should grab Biogen. If not, we should grab Social Psych and manage our drones with rec commons. I doubt very much that Morgan will be able to finish 2 SPs anytime soon - if he had that many resources, he would have finished 1 a while ago.

              • We should probably take this in account. Angels are curious if we are beelining to IA.

Forum is getting awfuly silent. Also, many things have happened on the diplomatic front, and yet nobody commented it? Huh?

                  • The turn is in, but there is a request by Illuminatus not to play it until we've had some chance to finish the current round of diplomacy with the Angels. I concur. Further, I suggest that we are ready to make our final (for this round) offer to the Angels, immediately. All three opinions on the issue concur in everything but details. See the diplo thread if you have further opinions.

If we can post our PM to the Angels in the next 6 hours or so, that gives them 12 hours to respond before we must play the turn. So please, agree and/or refine the diplomacy, if you have the time. I am perfectly happy if we post it right now.

                        • What's the verdict on moving our second probe team? Only smacksim and I have commented.

smacksim wants to move the probe team west and then north, popping a pod.

I want to move the probe team north, through 1 tile of fungus, avoiding all pods.

                          • Hmm, I would not pop pods with probe team. I would go with Chaos then.

                            • Movement of the damaged worm in the northeast:

                              Options:

Move it to fungus and heal it

                              Pop the coastal pod

                              Pop the inland pod

Head down the river into unexplored territory

I favor popping the coastal pod, since the worm is not particularly vulnerable to bad pops, we'd have more time to deal with a problem than if we popped the inland pod, and the unexplored territory down the river is probably only 1 tile thick

                              • I don't really like either route (edit: for the probe team) unless we can bring some protection for the probe team, but essentially yeah, with no protection at all I'd rather risk popping the pod than wading through fungus.

Illuminatus, I suggest you discuss the fungal tower with the Angels and let them know how tasty and delicious it looks to us. It's probably best to put this on the negotiating table too, considering the recent generosity of their offer and the turn order:

Gaians: Gift 2 units ---> Angels (SL and rover)

Angels: Gift IA --> Gaians + commlink (apparently)

Gaians: Redirect research to ethical calculus (just kidding) to Biogen. and plan on sending to Angels when we research it.

That's a great deal for us really.
