I have an idea. How about direct inquiry of Spartan oppinion on the current situation on the planet? I will prepare a proposed information to them. We do not have to be to informative in the question, but I would maybe restate some obvious info on the planet. Then we might give them a hint, that we gonna be neutral here, I guess they may be really afraid of us going to Pact with Morganities and Gaians. I would later though try to convince them (Spartans) that we might go for Pact with Gaians in the near future, and this would be for mainly economic reasons - not to threaten Sparta.

First, now we can offer EnvEcon to the Gaians... there does seem to be a one turn delay thus.
Two, the Gaians are pacted with the Morgans now
Militarily: I see a Spartan impact cruiser just north of Yoda Soda.
I wonder if a military invasion is finding place there...
Morgans indeed look in pretty low shape. Seems they've put all their energy in erecting bases and covering them with probe defenders... They look more Angel-like then we do!On the ISDG 2012 team at the heart of CiviLIZation

Fungi-Former, fungus removal doubled
Missile squad, 6-1-1
Missile Rover, 6-1-2
Missile Artilery, (6)-1-1 - ??? - need to reconfirm, all 3 of them have it.

And just in time for our first Command Center then.
And yes, getting some kind of response/opinion from the Spartans now may be a good idea.
I don't think our transport is in danger this year, but we might be wary when we try to cross the sea. I think Hercs' idea of keeping it south and deliver our probe to that river leading to the inland University base is best at this stage.
Still... in public Spartans have hinted to Morgans for signing a peace treaty, but appearantly Morgans don't feel like that (again, in public).Last edited by GeoModder; March 7, 2005, 19:48.

That worries me. Spartans wish peace for what purpose?
- to recuperate from their last attack. They also lost all commerce, atrocity.
- just being nice.......
- to hit other faction they see a threat to them in the future (Gaians or Angels)

While the Spartans are militaristic, they are also bound by a code of honour.
We owe them a tech and we also have that promise about them not building Ascetic Virtues. We are safe for at least two years. On the ISDG 2012 team at the heart of CiviLIZation

And again the Corporate diplomacy is pressing...
Geo
We are again sending you a Pact preapproved.
If you accept the pact we will be able to share with you info on Spartan deployments that I strongly suspect will affect your current operations within one or two turns.
Although I don't think you'll like what you'll see, the sooner you see sooner you can act.

Ok, I will contact Spartans, as I wrote earlier.
Meanwhile I think any hostile "arrangement" towards us might be only in case we do not forward IntInt. But I might be wrong.
Let us press for command centers and military. Just in case.

Just PM'd this to Chaos Theory, Illu, and Ouro.
Members of the Gaian Council,
First, let me open this message by warning you that we have discovered a Spartan transport on the eastern shore of the Hive territory within radius of the base there. We could spot a probe team in it. We believe that this ship is heading to your territory.
This warning in case your intelligence missed it.
Secondly, regarding the Gaian proposal for a Pact with the Data Angels. Our DataJacks are mostly in favour of such a bound between our factions, but before we can commit ourselfes we need to now some more.
Due to the fact that we try to maintain our neutrality in the present conflict(s) on Planet, we would like to hear your view regarding the war between the Corporate and the Junta. Do you plan to affiliate yourself with either faction? Would the Council expect from us to choose sides if we pact with you?
There are probably more questions to come, but this is a start.
Regards,
IT GeoModder
't might be wise to place all available probe teams (not the cops) in hidden places ready to mindprobe Spartan solo units in case of an invasion.

Actually this came from Chaos Theory earlier today (Gaian)
In case you have not already been told, we have agreed to a pact with the Morganites.

And thinking more on Spartan situation. They are refused any commerce by the game engine. Regardless of the fact what was the destroying of PTS, we have to admitt, that it kinda moved away the threat of Morgan Corporation taking over the world.
For this reason, since Spartans are still our Treaty of friendship allied faction, we might help them economically. This might also delay their attack in case they plan it. So far we had very good relations with them, so till they attack us, we may play nice. After all, what Morganities tell us might be a game trying win our support for the Corporation only, and having no truth in reality.
What do you think of possible economic kinda help for Spartans. Whatever, small or medium, any form we can afford.

Don't you think we might need the cash ourself?
Or else, we could buy one or two of their elite gatling rovers of course if they have too many.
Problem with the Hive solved for sure, and might be cheaper then probing them from the Hive.
