  • Also some other thoughts on possible trade of Ethical Calculus. How about it:

Ethical Calculus without embargo from Spartans
Progenitor Psych and Adaptive doctrine from Angels - after we have PEG.

Both techs even without PEG are a great adavantage. They give two sea improvements: aquafarm and thermocline transducer, usefull where there is a lot of sea around a base. But first and foremost it is needed for Planetary Economics, which has hybrid forest, subsea trunkline, Ascetic Virtues and increases commerce. If both techs are not equal for Spartans to Ethical Calculus, then they really value it maybe excessively.

What do you think, am I right in this estimate?

    • I just noticed Ouro's signature has the message

Ambassador of the Gaian's to the Data Angels.

Now he may or may not be and maybe he's had this in his signature for quite a while. But it does give the Morgans an extra bit of imformation.

Here's how I see it with some guesswork:

DataAngels comms with Gaian's, Spartans and Hive

Gaian's have comms with Data Angels, Spartans, Hive, and one other?

Spartans have comms with Data Angels, Gaians, Hive and Morgan.

Yang has comms with Data Angels, Gaian's , Spartans and Morgan

Morgan has comms with Spartans and Yang, ............Gaians?

Anyhow Morgan can surmise from Ouro's sig that the DA and Gaian's have met and are buddies.

However maybe at this stage it doesn't matter.

      • Wow... Just wish I'd been around to help.

And Herc, that's an interesting theory. Though I don't think it matters much at this stage IMHO.

        • Oh, it was no -mistake- Mart, Cycon decided for their own strategic reasons to attack the Pirates and the shot over the bow was them taking a pre-accepted tech, and we had them in our waters within 5 turns
But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

              • A message on Spartan diplo-channel:
                To Data Angels:

We thank you for the transmission of the Doctrine: Loyalty technology (and congratulate the Data Angels oin the successful completion of The Virtual World - you will be interested to know that as a result the University has changed their focus now to The Merchant Exchange)

I confirm that when we move the turn on, the blueprints for the technology Doctrine: Flexibility will be in the diplomatic pouch on a pre-accepted basis

It was a pleasure for the Spartan Federation to do business with the Data Angels

                Sincerely,

                Lieutenant-Colonel Googlie

                • I have just opened the turn.

First the good news. We have received Doc:Flex
and can switch to Adaptive Economics.

                  Go to 2140-50 thread.

                  • It may be necessary to acquire Impact tech from somewhere, urgently. If the Spartans have it can we offer them some future tech.

                    • There is also some other possibility. As rules state retro-engineering is allowed. We might probe a hive unit. We might loose some units for "softening" it a bit. I believe that heaviliy damaged units should be very cheap to convert. Thus we might have Impact speeders this way. Good for defense. on field.

                      • Gaians asked about status of our talks with Spartans. Iposted short note. I hope it wouldn't be inappropriate in any way - I do not reveal any crucial details there.
                        To Gaian Union,

We have received Doctrine Flexibility from Spartan Federation, as we agreed previously with them without any embargo. Thus the Gaian Union will receive Doctrine Flexibility during your next turn. We will post it pre-accepted yet this MY 2149. We hope this will significantly improve your war efforts against the Human Hive. We wish you the best.

We further attempt to negotiate the best deal on Ethical Calculus, however Spartans are very tough negotiators. I cannot presently say anything more specific, as we have not yet reached any mutually acceptable terms. I can say however, that we continue to have good relations, and as they appear also improving, with the Spartan Federation, which is a good sign.

I will post soon more information on development of events which interests Gaian Union.

                          • An important proposal from Illuminatus. They have not agreed for it yet, but already it was submitted to us:
We do have to agree that the biggest threat presented to each faction on planet is Morgan Industries. Regardless of our current/future relations with them, they are the biggest and most immediate threat to our survival. This is why I simultanuously suggest this pact to you and High Council. Although no direct actions against Morgan are required from any of our respective factions, we should share our intelligence data on him between us, as well as our hypothesis about their future actions. We would establish a databank regarding Morgan activities. We can both contribute by adding data about technologies that are in ther possesion (like their recent aquisitions of Mobility and Flexibility) and other possible data. Gaian Union can also provide you with data on their relations with Yang, since we have infiltrated his networks (the fact that these two faction have good relations is concerning). We would provide each other with new info as soon as we discover it. Terms are open for proposal and negotiations and I believe that this idea is reasonable. What do you say? I believe High Council will express support my proposal.

                            • I can agree with this but let us not jeapodise PEG. I don't think anyone knows of our plans for this and we would be misleading the Gaians if we discussed that we thought the Morgans were aiming for this but at the same time were silent on our own plans for PEG.

quote "we should share our intelligence data on him between us, as well as our hypothesis about their future actions" unquote

So I think we can response positively and say we are putting the proposal to our Datajack central control or whatever. After we have played 2150 and sent on the turn we can be more open, because if all goes well we will be building PEG in 2151 turn.

                              That's my thoughts at moment.

Do Gaian's know we have Prog Psych? Probably they do under the research disclosure deal.

In short I suggest we make positive noises but don't disclose anything until their council also agrees.
