      • (What kind of graphic makers are Firaxis guys? A few fans can DRAMATICALLY improve their original graphics!)

Guys, the mod is REALLY near to be finished... !

So, what do you think about using railway.bmp in the case of metropolies?

        • I think it is a good idea. I will get cracking on that. I am also making a few units for civ3 so my attention is divided between all these things plus my web page.

            • GIDustin,

There are MANY errors in some of yours background files.

While I think that small ones are OK,
in medium ones, there are some places filled with background workshop color.

And in large ones, there is WAY to much of such spaces.

              • is that only in the new ones, or old ones as well?

                  • NM i get it now.

I was looking at the image really closely, and it appears that alot of those are the sides of houses. However, if you dont want any of that color at all, i will fix it.

                    • OK I have edited the website (link somewhere above) with the new zip files. Every file has been altered except the -SML ones, and I put the RAILWAY ones on that page as well. Some links wont work for awhile as they are being uploaded now.

Let me know if these are better. I wont stop working until they are perfect.

                        • Do you have plans on posting this modification on CFC as well?

                          • By the way Ismailov,

Buildings in small pics don't fall completly inside city walls (your last screenshot shows that).

Now, for new versions (if you have time), I think it would be best to try to make cities a little bit smaller (to fit in clear area ONLY).
And same to be done with small pics (to fit inside walls).

Also some work is needed to prevent buildings being SPLITTED by the walls (can be seen on some screenshots).

Of course this would all need some work, but for now, they are OK as they are (these things are suggestions for some new versions).

                            P.S.
About that wall thing: I think that different styles of walls take different space, so be wary of that.

                            • Ok! I should have said "the town almost fits inside the city walls"

I think that these minor details should be fixed, but first I would like to release a kind of "final" version. I will wait for a couple of days to check whether there is any more important bug missing. If no more bugs are reported, I'll gather the files and I'll post them to Apolyton guys to post them here.

Yes, I think that posting it also in CFC is a good idea... I'll do it soon.

                              • I think it is not difficult to test the pics in game: If you have PTW, just edit scenarios "ancient start", "middle ages start", "industrial start", and "modern start". Then, switch on the option "Debug mode". After, play them. It allows you to create any kind of city in just 15 seconds That's how I snap the screenshots.
