    • Ok, still using version 6.21.. But wow!

You can read about it here.. http://forums.civfanatics.com/showth...threadid=11996

This map combined with civ3's resource system actually was able to simulate the need for colonization by european nations during the renaissance! whee! I think that's quite incredible

Now, let's see.. if I had to buy iron from the Chinese at 20gold/turn... I wonder how much the oil will cost me from the Egyptians and Persians??? yow!

Thanks.. forgot to take a screenshot before leaving the game, but tonight I should be able to write the following 2 centuries. Tension is rising right more and more quickly, as 3 nations are now colonizing lands, and Rome has been involved in another war. And this time, there was a surprise.

But more on that tonight, on civfanatics

            • The communities inturpretation of the world map is damm superb. Casting my eye over England (where I live) I dont have any problems with its representation. I'll muse over the map and geography books some more before I put forward some *slight* tweaks for the map.

              • Am I the only one who thinks that there isn't any ocean?!
And how come there is little ocean between Europe - Afrika and North - South America?!

                • The masses oceans importance to gameplay have been fully accounted for, eg. the oceans around are much less than a what would be "realistic".
What would you have most? Land masses where most of the interaction is on or huge oceans that ships have to spent 100 years to cross??

                    • I know there was a c3b file in one of the versions of the map.. Maybe version 6.0. I'm pretty sure that's where I got mine.

                        • Aluminium in Sweden???

Why has somebody replaced then iron with aluminium in Sweden???
Sweden has got one aluminium factory, that factory is in Sundsvall (approximately at the barbarian camp by the east coast of Sweden). That factory only uses imported bauxite. There is no natural resource of aluminium in Sweden.

Someone must have replaced the iron placed in Sweden on my request with aluminium. This is a very strange idea, and I recommend you to take the iron back, because of Sweden's rich quantities of iron. During Word War II Sweden sold (was forced to sell) iron to Germany, and because of this, Germany never occupied Sweden. If they had done that, the allied would have bombed the Swedish iron mines, and Germany had been without iron (which would have been just great for me).
I see there is iron in the north of Scandinavia (actually in Norway). If you moved this about three or four tiles southwards, and removed the aluminium (or perhaps replaced it with iron) in central Sweden, I would be glad.

Thanks a lot for a great map.

I can't get the c3b file to work. YES, I dl'ed the utility, I followed the instructions, when I tried to load the new save game it just told me where the file was and that the load failed.

                              • How to get the map working with Civbreed
                                1. Put civbreed.exe and map.c3b in your Saves directory.
                                2. Start the scenario and save the game in your Saves directory as save.sav
                                3. Run civbreed from explorer. It will ask for 3 files, type in:

                                save.sav
                                map.c3b
                                test.sav

The window shouldn't just flash by, if everything went fine it will stop at the message:

                                "Done. Press any key."

                                4. Load test.sav

Make sure you have the latest version, 0.4.6.
