You can move your fp, but only if you raze the city in which it is already built. Not exactly a good idea with the new corruption model. You can lower corruption in a variety of ways. WLTKD, form of government, courthouses and police stations all have an effect on corruption.

There have been several games where, because of a tight tech race, I got the ToE before Industrialization, and made the leap to Electronics, thus having Hoover's before I could build any factories.

Bob, what way are you talking about? Any city with 50 raw shields will hit 100 with a factory and Hoover's/hydro/coal, and any city with 40 raw shields can hit 100 with nuke plants.

If your city has 90% corruption/waste, chances are you're not going to be able to help it, because the actual corruption % may be well over 100%, but the game caps it at 90%. This means the only way to get it over 1 shield is to get it to 20 raw shields, of which 90%, or 18, will be waste, leaving you with 2. Not enough of an improvement to justify a lot of effort.

What do you do with a city like that (with all the coruption)? Mine has some coast ,mostly plains - only a few grasslands and mountians.

BadBob, if you have a huge empire (3 times the OCN or more), then go communist. Especially if you are still expanding. Take the lumps in population and anarchy. While it may be "distasteful" it is the way to go in C3C.

Usually, I give it a temple, and marketplace and harbor if needed, and let it take up space and contribute to my unit support totals. If I really feel like micromanaging, I'll irrigate everything around it and give it an aqueduct, then use a lot of specialists. Every tile settled, even if useless to me, is a tile my enemy can't make useful.

Thats true - I will sometimes buld a city just to denie tiles/resources to my enemy.

On another note about citys - i have a city that was bult just to denie my enemies a resource - when my culture increases - it is not in all derections - why is that?

What's stopping it from expanding in all directions? Ocean? Enemy borders?

Its on the boarder of an enemy border - however the city square was bult there and it expanded into enemy tertory. Wont it continue like that?

If the resource was in the enemy city's first ring and your second ring then you won't get it. If it's in both your second rings then it depends more on culture points and age of the city (AFAIK). If it's in both your first rings then it depends more on culture points.

The rescourse is in my first ring - but my second ring wont keep expand in that derection - its outside his second ring.

If there's a "ring tie", tile control is decided strictly on accumulated culture in the city, Rhoth. I've plopped down many a new city and bought temples, libraries, unis and caths to steal same ring resources. Post a screenshot, Bob. I'm having trouble visualizing what you're talking about.

Yeah I know. That's what I meant about first ring being based on culture points. A while back I argued with Dominae about it. Naturally I lost. He proved to me you can indeed culture bomb an opposing city's first ring. I had never known that before, but I've used it since.

A screenshot would be good. I'm having trouble visualizing what you mean too Badbob.
