Sorry for all the inconvenience caused by this misunderstanding but I haven´t unsed this tank of you tanelorn. If I use a graphic which I haven´t drawn (which is quite often ) I leave the sigs where they belong, attached to the unit graphic.
You can have a look at this unit file to make this sure.

Anyone else noticed a problem?

Sometime when copying from a bmp file to a gif, you get odd pink shades due to the compression values and colour restrictions of gif formats.
But like fiarline, I just eliminate the upper purple triangles,
recopy the bottom ones from an existing similar format, and then add sigs where I can fit them.

Ofcoure, when using PSP and similar programs, you can just load the civ palette and never bother about it again..."Whoever thinks freely, thinks well"

Dudes, the problems i am reffering are the various glitches that appear when a unit moves into unexplored terrain, or moving out of a stack."Military training has three purposes: 1)To save ourselves from becoming subjects to others, 2)to win for our own city a possition of leadership, exercised for the benefit of others and 3)to exercise the rule of a master over those who deserve to be treated as slaves."-Aristotle, The Politics, Book VII

Palaiologos: which glitches? The one where you get chevrons on the unit shield, or the tiles around the unit are briefly black, or another glitch?
The first of these is correctable by moving the unit shield further away from the right-hand border."I didn't invent these rules, I'm just going to use them against you."

Let's not forget the red turning purple and blue thingie, that is present even in the original unit.gif (look at the archer...)"Whoever thinks freely, thinks well"

What is a "chevron"?
Yeah the black tiles is one that i am speaking about.
There is also a glitch where a "trace" of the unit's shield remains sometimes behind for a split second."Military training has three purposes: 1)To save ourselves from becoming subjects to others, 2)to win for our own city a possition of leadership, exercised for the benefit of others and 3)to exercise the rule of a master over those who deserve to be treated as slaves."-Aristotle, The Politics, Book VII

The 'trace' or chevron occurs with any unit whose shield is too close to the left or right edge as Panda says.
The red problem Tanelorn refers to is caused by using the palette index 252 red (R:255 G:0 B:0), which is reserved for the unique civ colour supposedly, although as Tanelorn says I only ever see a turquoise in-game. Just replace the 255 reds in a unit with palette 96 and re-load the civ palette.
