  • Yes. I checked during the playtest that Civ2dip works in hotseat mode. But something a little odd happened - IIRC the traded unit was frozen for TWO turns, instead of just one.

    Bostero wrote "unit bribing is ok. but you have to say publically which unit was bribbed. city bribing banned!".

    Eurisko wrote "And I think deals between two nations controlled by the same player should be allowed, but they should be posted openly so that others may, if necessary, object."

    If there are no objections soon, these will be 2 new rules. We still need an end-of-alliance rule. Also, someone posted an exploit at CFC which I've never heard of. You can detect how many units are in a stack (sometimes in a city) by shrinking the status window. Do we want a rule against this?



    Oh yeah... one more from CFC (see also Game #1). There is a way to unblock supply by simply leaving the trade window open for about 60 seconds. I think this should be forbidden. Opinions?

    • Unit bribing should be ok and city bribing banned, I agree with Dario.

      As for the two exploits, they should be banned. Not that I would use them anyway if they weren't.

      But still, we have lots of time until we are at a stage where one could actually use them.

        I just noticed something odd (probably an error) in the tech tree. IIRC someone mentioned it in the playtest, but their remark just went over my head at that time. Please check your tech tree is the same as mine ...

        * class structure does nothing
        * the pre-reqs for ceremonial burial are pictographs and horse training.

        According to a chart (by Kull AFAIK) class structure should be a pre-req instead of horse training. But even if this chart is correct, IMO it is too late to fix this, and we should just forget it - as long as we all have the same tree.

        • Unit bribing w/announcement
          City bribing (thought this already was the rule)

          Link is borked (but I followed the linky in the SoG #1 game). This exploit should be banned. (By God, it is tempting! Can't erase it from my mind.)

          I don't know if the trade window trick works with hotseat as with MP/PbEM, but in case it does work: banned.

          • Yes, I also noticed that class structure is useless. Well, whatever.

                    • Three turns takes about six weeks in Game #1.

                      Hittites: hut = nomads
                      Babs: A Bab skirmisher attacked a barb town and lost. IMO the rules allow the Babs to pop a hut this turn, since they failed to take the town. But we can discuss this, and I can replay if needed. Hut = nomads.

                      I've had a couple of PMs with Platypus Rex, and invited him back. No idea if he'll return though.

                      • Of course a failed attack on a barbarian town should not count as one's "action" that turn.
