  • I'd put #7 as #1, #3&4 as #2, and #6 as #3 priorities.

    Regarding early caravan deliveries, from the SSC the earlier the better. If you can "lock in" the early routes with supplies that will change later as the city and number of techs grow, you will find more than one supply unblocked in the mid to late game. If I'm in a really perfectionist mood I try to drop Colossus in just before the vans arrive at their destinations.

            I think that dye is the only possibilty at the moment. You can build dye in Susa or Arbela. Without a road network in place, it will take a while to re-home a van from Susa.

                There is no point in using up a 50 shield camel for a 65-85g delivery this early unless it is homed from the SSC. Once the SSC site is decided on the deliveries can begin, spaced around building WOWs. The choices will expand with expansion...build more cities. Also, until the correct road is in place to Zim, the routes won't stick anyway. So first priority is Not camels but more Settlers. At this date 7 or 8 cities could already be down.

                Hint: remember the concept of a station city. If a city is founded on one of the correct road tiles, the road only 'needs' to go to that city to activate the road bonus. Another virtue of the Straybow canal city site discussed previously.

                    Not sure whether you'll be able to read this , but my sympathies. I lost a hard disk a couple of years ago, and that was a real pain.

                        At the bottom of the "text entry screen" (the one with all the smileys on the left when you type yor message) there is a box with "browse..." on the right. Either enter the address of the .sav file directly in this box or press the browse button and (eventualy) select your save.

                        Beware - IIRC this link has to be reinserted if you preview your reply.

                              • We can trade in Stu's gold watch...

                                We're keeping the Zulu alive for trade route bonuses using road/rail multipliers, which could be calculated and begun now if we can calm them down and get a couple roads finished. I often find gifting Republic acts as a balm, and beginning to pull ahead in tech sometimes helps too.

                                But like I said before we only need one good city to trade with. Perhaps Stu might like to take out some aggressions (after appropriate scouting) in the next round?
