Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
I may be at loose ends tomorrow AM, COTUT (Center Of The Universe Time ).
If no one objects, I'll pick up the game and squeeze in a few turns (maximum 10, correct?)

Good grief... we have 37 cities and nobody else has more than 5? It's a rout!
Tenochtitlan appears to be N of Tientsin...
Lots of vulnerable units near AI cities, but eggs will broken and omelets made.
(Personal challenge - I will not be using city bribe)
[ENTER]
1020: Selected rushing of units. We refuse peace with Greeks.
Coal Rome>Trondheim 94 g. Why even bother?
Positioning of units near Babylon and the Greek cities
Rush a couple of boats near the Viking cities - we need to get units there fast before they have Gunpowder and Leo's...
We violate the Viking ceasefire.
1040: More positioning.
1060: Thermopylae captured. Corinth captured.
1080: Legion sabotaged and Temple destroyed in Athens. Babylon captured; we take Astronomy, Babylonians eliminated. No respawn.
1100: Trondheim captured including Great Library Athens captured with City walls intact.
Accidentally sign cease fire with Greeks... sorry... although at some point we will need to swap maps with them to find Argos. They won't talk now, though.
Tenochtitlan identified (at the likely cost of the Crusader that stumbled upon it).
5 turns are all I have time for, unfortunately. Hopefully I haven't done too much damage. I have positioned some units near the Indian cities and a hodgepodge of units are converging on Tenochtitlan. There's plenty of cash for rushing... I probably could have micromanaged better, but the game is well in hand anyway. If you can't figure out what to do with all the units in Viking lands and near Sparta... well, that's your problem :P

I decided to only play five turns, and I think we are close to the end.
Situation -- we have 41 cities, the Vikes have 3 (2 are seen), Greeks have 2 (one seen), and Indians 2.
Decide to push for an explorer for the southern Greek area & press enter.
Hmmm get disruption in a few cities (in fact get that every turn -- I'm a little sloppy about these things.)
1120 -- Take Kaupang, get 29 coins; Pop = 5M
1140 -- Dip destroys the walls of rivered Delhi. Explorer finds Argos. Take Sparta (despite warning of the worsening of our atrocious reputaion) -- Greeks offer all of their wealth (78 coins) for a ceasefire...we almost accept.
1160 -- Take Hlader +16 in wealth. Hut near Babylon yields a settler
1180 -- Hut east of Uppsala pops out a half dozen barb horse & a legion -- buy the legion & a horse, slay three more horse, but los the hut popper. both new units are NONE -- expect Aarhus to be close by. Raze Argos, Greeks gone, no restart of orange. (Barb takes Tientsin -6 coins)
1200 -- Take Delhi; save game with Aarhus spotted and a dip outside Tientsin & some units left to move.
Only two non Barb cities left -- bets on the number of turns to finish -- without buying the cities?
i was just thinking about firing up civ2 after years of not touching it, and lo and behold i find this thread.
if i can find the cd and fire it up, i might see what this succession game stuff is all about tonight, but please don't wait for me if you want to jump in.
While there might be a physics engine that applies to the jugs, I doubt that an entire engine was written specifically for the funbags. - Cyclotron - debating the pressing issue of boobies in games.
Given that it's been almost 2 weeks since anyone played, I don't think anyone would object to you jumping in, vee. Of course, if you don't post in the next 48 hours, someone else may jump in after that.
And there are probably less than 5 turns left to play, anyway

and it's also a good thing that it was so late in the game, or I would have f***** it up i'm sure.
I had to stare at the screen for a while to let the memories flood back in...the advisors are great.

Did you keep a turnlog, by chance? If not, no worries, but that's the usual form for succession games.
Without a log, we can only imagine your successes, your failures (losing unit stacks! ) and of course... it greatly limits the scope of Robust Constructive Criticism (another hallmark of succession games).

Welcome Vee, and well done for completing the game.
As STYOM said, if you can fill in a few details of the final moves, that would be appreciated.
Congratulations to all who took part in what I suspect will be the last ever Civ II succession game. Put it on your CV after the line about meeting Paul Simon in Wigan in 1962.
