    Six downloads, but no announced player for the next turn set. Who's next?

      I downloaded this, but was one over the eight at the time, and had to go to bed after only a couple of turns.

      So, since I've already seen the state of play, I'll wait until someone else plays before taking my turns.

        Interesting game. I would have saved those 200 shields for Mike instead of building LH and build another 20 cities though.

          Yeah, why don't we get more cities?

            This is being played to the Gits' crook and clad strategy (patents pending), and so the Lighthouse is vital to get vet clads and rule the seas! (And win early)
            Mind you, your turns are your turns so you are free to do what you like with them.

              Well I only have MGE so would ruin it for the guys who only have 2.42 so I wont play.

              But seriously we dont need LH to get Bejing, chinese dont have feud yet so 2 tiremmes with 4 vet crooks should be enough to kill any def. Maybe even 3 and a dip to bribe some barbs. With HG/Pyr/Mike we can then basicly explode.

                OK - I'm outnumbered - probably you are all correct and the LH was a mistake - I readily admit it was more a matter of principal than a totally rational decision.

                SO WHO IS GOING TO PLAY THIS???

                  I guess it is up to me to continue this game, just don't expect an update anytime soon (this week will be insane for me). I might be able to do a few turns over my lunch breaks so I could probably get 10 turns done by the end of the week. If anyone thinks that they can go faster, go ahead. I will not make any more comments on this turnset.

                  To those that say "Hey, you can't play! You just killed yourself!" I answer ...

                  I got better

                  Edit:

                  Well, nobody responded yet and I had a productive lunch break, so here is my log. I did not spend as much time as I normally like in between turns, so don't expect anything too spectacular.

                  1 AD: Greeks, Give all techs (no pikemen for you), trade maps, tribute 50g, Indians, Peace, trade maps, tribute 200g
                  20 AD: Antium -> Caravan
                  40 AD: Veii, Cumae, Neapolis, Pompeii, Ravenna -> Caravans, Hispalis -> Crusader, Osaka -> Crusader, production shifted to crusaders and triremes on home continent
                  60 AD: Greeks Tribute 150g, I am looking to end the war with the Japanese, the fun way
                  80 AD: a little battle at Edo, not much else
                  100 AD: Mike's built -> happiness no longer a factor, We are now ready to accept lots of cities , Edo captured (destroyed, shoulda bought it instead) 28g, Mathematics
                  120 AD: Japanese -> Grant peace, 100g tribute, biding time till conquest. Have a small army of 3 crusaders near Kyoto. Viroconium Founded East of Pisae.
                  140 AD: Vikings -> Trade for Republic, Give techs (not Mono, share maps), I believe all cities are now visible. If not near the end of my turn I would turn up the tax rate. Greeks -> Tribute 50g I have my eye on purchasing a few Greek Cities, I will demand tribute to see if I can't make this easier on myself.
                  160 AD: Not much, shared maps with Greeks, Indians, Unsuccessfully demanded tribute from Vikings
                  180 AD: Vikings to Republic, Convinced Japanese to declare war on me , Kill off a chariot and a settler
                  200 AD: Not much going on, Greek cities are quite expensive, so I was planning on waiting for two caravan deliveries to Beijing and Shanghai for some big payoffs to hopefully purchase both soon.
                  First wave of Crusaders and Triremes are ready for deployment, recent maps of our enemies have been acquired and

But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man - for precisely the same reasons.

                      You guys are quick. I've been playing around with this game a bit but always got along much slower, hence never dared saving and posting

                        @ Stuporman

                        The march has truly begun - nice turnset!

                        @Ecthy

                        The rules (post 1 on this thread) give you 72 hours - if you don't finish your turnset in that time you post whatever you have managed - go for it Ecthy ...

                          72 hours from now is Saturday morning. If no-one else has posted a turn set by the start of Sounds of the Sixties, I'll contribute my effort.

                            Huh?! there's a succession game going on!

                            I'm in -- 10 turns -- will play tonight, post tomorrow

                            (sorry RJM -- should get you a new save to work with.)

                                Last save was 2.40 (works with 2.42) This save is MPG

                                Recommend that future 2.42 players may consider a double save until our MPG only types join in...
