Thanks for the unit, he's going to be a fast moving special unit.

I need a copy of that disk... how large is the whole file?

    --------------------

Currently 6 slots are still open. One is one of the barbarian slots, any ideas?

The other 5 I'm planning to use for "boss" units, of which one is going to be immobile. Ideas and graphics are highly welcome!

Roster looks pretty complete! Was going to reccomend 'journalist' in the diplomat slot, but the graphic is so good for nerd, it should probably stay nerd! You may be able to fill the rest with bio-tech related (poison gas, battle cat, walking tree, etc), drug-supped (noticed steroid-fighter already, or money-based units (North West has a strong, self-sufficient natural resources-based economy). On the other side, maybe some drooling, fanatic foot soldiers?

Love mad cow and black helicopter.

The nerd graphic is actually from a googled photo of a nerd.

The walking tree sounds like a good idea, and I think I know where i can find a graphic for it also.

        Currently working on Describe.txt. Here's a sample:
After losing the 2000 Presidential election, Al Gore went back to what he did best- inventing the Internet. Since the Internet was already invented, and reinventing it would be dumbest thing since reinventing the wheel, Gore developed a better version, which became known as the Internet2. Subsequently, he would go on to invent additonal faster versions, including the Internet3 and the InternetPi. Anime fans and other lonely people worldwide rejoiced.
Some parts of it probably not suitable for posting

          Smiley,

You still in need of some whacky units? This is one I enjoyed making. There's no way this would appear in a normal Civ2 scenario but he might have a place in yours.

That little hat is Cheech Wizard, a character from Vaugn Bode's comix work, usually known by the catch-all name of "Deadbone." He did a lot of work and a good part of it was pseudo-military, which was odd for such a counterculture person. His work was strongly iconoclastic and tended to violent parody. Bode' himself remains a mysterious figure, committing suicide while still young. Cheech Wizard later saw publication in National Lampoon and a few other places, but the strong sexuality of his stuff kept it out of the mainstream.

Totally correct Exile, you deserve a pat on the back for your comic history knowledge

For a long time (due to the lettering) I actually thought it said "Cheese Wizard" instead of "Cheech Wizard". I've only became familiar with Vaughn Bode's work in the last few years myself. Until then I only knew he was some 60/70's comic artist. Pity he died so young, the guy had talent.

Hmm, I just might work that in there as an easter egg.

More graphics work- this is what the new City Screen looks like. Sections have been recolored and redesigned for a more intuitive look.

RE: What happens if gov switching is dissallowed and a Democracy slips into revolt; tried to deliberately leave some democratic cities in disorder to circumvent the 'no-revolution' setting in other scenarios. I did not descend into anarchy though, and was not able to select a new government; it is at least possible to get this effect, although I don't know if it is the only effect possible.

You have to refuse to remove friendly troops that the AI insists you move.

If you don't move 'em, the government falls.

Yes, I've seen it occur repeatedly in my playtests (where it's unwanted ), but I suspect the AI is very particular about the circumstances. I'll look into it and post the details later.

Okay, in my El Aurens playtest on turn 1, four AI units, "Syrians" (slot 62), which are deployed in Sinai cities (map0), have a home city, "23 PF", on map3. One turn later they all are homed to the city which they garrison.

Syrians have the defensive role, the fanatic flag on, cannot enter impassable terrain, and an mf=3. The cities in which they reside are surrounded by impassable terrain. In the past, I've seen nonfanatics rehomed by the AI. The main requirement seems to be that they are mobile units stuck in a city.

IIRC, role 0 units garrisoning a city will make that city their new home, if their original home city is captured. I believe that this may require Gue and/or Cmn.

If your Cyberdemon is immobile he'll never rehome during the AI turn. If you give him a role 0, he shouldn't rehome upon capture of his home city. If he's mobile and stuck in a city, you'd better playtest a lot.

                              Exile:
Not an issue since negotiations are off. All good.

                              Boco:
He's configured as mobile and not stuck in a city (and is designed to "visit" many), so looks like it's playtest time. My foolproof alternative method is making him part of a third-party civ and killing that civ upon capture of a certain city.
