  • Versailles is always good provided we can build it in a city far enough away from our capital.

      • I've negotiated an open border treaty with CFC, so our chariot can continue its journey. We will check their land a bit, probably find the zulu's
After that however I think we should sell them our chariot, for several reasons:
-we don't really need it anymore, brining home would take long
-we wouldn't need to pay for its maintenance and supply cost (these are 1 or 2 gold/turn)
-They are at war, so helping them would be a good point in our relationship

I'm thinking selling it for 30 gold would be fair and then we would save some gold by not paying for it.

        What do you think?

          • Re the chariot, there is still a lot of exploring to do, especially to the south and south west of Eridne.

            • i've realized that we are losing money by not having open borders with the maya(because they hve bigger cities than most civs, so bigger trade income), i offered them ingame , but a bit late in this turn, they have already finished their turn.
We must contact them and at least make this OB treaty.
We should try to negotiate nap and carefully we could try to negotiate borders. We are about to block their expansion to the north, and we don't really want to tell them yet.
Btw I've asked in the other thread: what is our diplo address?maybe it would be better if all of us had access so any of us could read the messages and send.

I'd rather use it to explore but if you think it would help us with CFC then do it.

                • CFC's turnplayer is 2metraninja, I was talking with him long while I was ingame. i know him well from previous games, i know we can make fair deals and that he also understands that we need to weaken RB any way we could. Their war with the zulu is unfortunate (the zulu atacked them9, because cfc could had taken the great library, but now it seems it will be RB's too..
It is our interest that Rb has strong neighbour (Inca, WPC and HRE have weak economy).
So I think if we could help cfc now while also helping to ourselves (by reducing maintenance cost) it1s win-win.
About exploration: in the not so distant future we can trade maps and eventually everyone will trade with everyone so no point not trading ours. We could propose a map trade to cfc with a condition that we won1t trade map with anyone else for x turns (not to mention that cfc won't have paper for sometime, so they couldn't trade their map even if they wanted.) This makes exploration less relvant.. we already have contact with every civ and trade outes to all of them (except zulu)

I am not convinced. The not so distant future could be 20+ turns from now.

                      • I see the desire to help out CFC, but I'm wondering if selling the chariot would really be the best move for us. I think we should continue to explore with it.

                        • Few screenshots showing how the world looks. We have an expedition force to settle the western river, in a few turns we will have two cites in the region. We have a new worker, next turn we will concert to Taoism, in 3 turns we will convert to bureaucracy/org religion. I had an idea that maybe we can try the colossus in Ankara (bronze city). since no one has metal casting yet we would have a godd chance on it.
The maya rejected my ingame open border offer.. we really need to contact them and negotiate.. we would get at least 5 extra ResearchPoint/turn.
about selling/not selling, it's 2:2 so far. My point is that exploration itself in that far won't give us any benefit, we have trade connectios with everyone, and sooner or later we can trade much better maps than those we can make by exploring. supplying that chariot costs money though. right now many of our cities are building wealth to keep research up, we could build chariots closer to our land if needed. Lastly it would improve our relations with cfc.
We will surely continue exploration in the SW region below Edrine. Edrine will have a hammam soon and we can send its chariot garrison to go exploring.

                          • Aztec did about 15 slaving in the last 4-5 turns, usually it's the sign of building military, but in this case I think they are building temples and monasteries so they get the bonus earlier when they finish the Apostolic palace.

                            • I am a little concerned about your seeming dislike for military units though. Yes, we have to supply them but the Inca seem rather aggressive to us in that they're plunking a city down right next to our border, ignoring the request to make the desert the border, and they have a large military with nothing better to do while we're a weak and obvious target. I wouldn't be remotely surprised to find they attack us soon just to give their large army something to do.

                              • Yes it's a bit risky, I know, but in about 10 turns the risk will be much lower, we could even slave a city wall for defense and quickly slave archers when needed. They won't have catapults soon. About the border: their city is ten tiles from our capital, we will build one 6 tiles from theirs. So I think this border agreement is fair.. too bad we lose the stone this way. We really need to get it from someone and probably the price will be high.
