  • Then Anaximander said to Militos: "Please bring Jeong Jung-bu's message to General Shing Sung, the Imperial Commander of Korea immediately"

Militos travelled as fast as possible. Many months later he arrived in Korea where he asked to be brought to General Shing Sug.

    • Osaka was the first city founded by the Japanese

Empire under the command of Shogun Kenshin Uesugi.

The city was located on the edge of the great land

bridge and was to be the temporary home of Emperor

Annei who had just turned 15. Along with his mother

Kenshin let the young boy run the city to teach him the

basics of running an empire. Before the young emperor

arrived to Osaka, Kenshin ordered the building of Osaka

      castle.

Upon the completion of the castle Annei arrived to see

his new home. He was amazed to see the beauty of the

castle. He toured the entire castle and walked around

the still under construction building. When he returned

to the castle he was glad to see his friends Hattori

Hanzo and Kazumasa Tokigawa. They had not seen

each other for almost a year so all three walked to the

war room of the castle to talk. They spoke for hours

telling each other stories of what they have done and

seen. Both Hattori and Kazumasa had both been

promoted to third class generals and were awaiting

      their troops.

The next day Kenshin introduced Annei to the person in

command of the Archer force protecting Osaka. They

walked to the main hall and their stood a young

woman. Kenshin then spoke, This is

3rd class General Komatsuhime Tadakatsu also know as

Inahime. She is the best archer we have and is an

excellent commander. With her around you will never

need to fear anything for she will protect you. Once

your two friend’s forces are ready they will be moving

out to a different part of the world to secure another

city we are planning to build. Until then they will stay

here with you as your bodyguards. We will have a

worker group come here as soon as possible but for

now I have ordered the building of barracks and asked

the Greeks to lend us a Phalanx unit to help protect

Osaka. I have invited the Koreans to Osaka as well to

try and gain their confidence and build good relations

with them. I will stay here till they come after that I will

return to Kyoto and you will have full control over Osaka

      for the next 5 yrs.
      Annei was not paying

attention all he could do was look at Inahime like a love

      struck fool.

Greetings ganesh. I am not sure I understand your message. Are you intending to build a city in that location and then gift it to me, or are you saying that I should build a city there?

        • The great coastal city of Vienne has become a mecca for Celtic knowledge. Architects from across the land have built a new library to help promote culture and intelligence across the Celtic lands.

We are also sad to announce that our most experienced Celtic warriors were ambushed by Barbarian hoards and died valiantly in combat. The Celtic people are overwrought with grief as these great men helped to successfully defend Boston and Washington. They were seen as great heroes to both lands.

The Celtic people have vowed revenge and immediately set forth to the northeast to find these curs and rid them of existence.

Together with the Korean scout Anaximander walked towards the Oldonian man. First thing Anaximander said was:

"I must apologize for my aggressive actions to you. You must know that I had just lost my friend, and I suspected you to be the barbarian behind that. I had no right to lose control of my anger. I am sorry."

            The Korean scout translated this:

"나는 당신에게 나의 공격적인 활동을 위해 사과해야 한다. 당신은 나가 지금 막 나의 친구를 상실했었다는 것을 알아야 한다, 나는 그것의 뒤에 오랑캐이기 위하여 당신을 의심했다. 나는 나의 노기를 를 제어할 수 없게 되는 아무 권리도 없었다. 나는 유감스럽다."[/q] The young man took note of all that was said, nodding hi head to show he undeerstood.

            Then Anaximander continued:

"Sparta seeks peace with Oldonia. We seek to bury the past and look for trade partners. We are willing to supply you with technology and resources and hope that you can secure our borders in the north. We will be good to the smaller nations that respect us and are willing to be our partners."

            which translated into:
"를 가진 평화를 찾는다. 우리는 과거를 매장하고 무역 협동자를 찾는 것을 노력한다. 우리는 당신을 기술과 자원으로 공급하고 당신이 북에 있는 우리의 국경을 장악할 다는 것을 희망하게 기꺼이 한다. 우리는 저희를 존중하고 우리의 협동자이게 기꺼이 하는 더 작은 국가에 좋을 것이다."
This was great news thoughht the corporal. He had great news for the Governor of the southern provinces.[q]

Then Anaximander whispered something into the Koreans ear. The Korean man hen said:

"영어로 이 메시지를 번역할 수 있는 첫번째 사람은 나의 이야기 투표를 얻을 것이다"
The Oldonian smiled, and told the lorean translater that he would give the mssage to his general who would pass the message up to the king.

            Then he spoke again

Yes i can translate the message , give me talk vote....

              • Emperor Asiz of the Piercian Empire

Every street of Pierced Hill was celebrating. They celebrated the return of their bretheren and the rise of their new Emperor. The winds, the earth, the flames and the tides were dancing all together, orchestred by the Oratress. The great central boulevard was filled with the troops carrying their leader on top of a great towershield, decorated with the finest gems of the Empire. In the distance, Esther stood on a balcony of the Palace, staring at her husband. She couldn't wait to finally see him again.

There he was. Asiz. The chosen one. The herald of the greater earth spirit, engulfed in his bronzen imperial armor. He was lead to the throne room and immediatly adressed to by his advisors.

"Hail, oh my Emperor. I am your foreign-politcs advisor. There are a few things that need your attention."

                "I listen. Speak freely advisor."

"It's about the Spartans. Their delegation asks for further instructions to reach the city of Meeting. Should we give them the instructions or have them escorted there ?"

"They have showed civilized enough to ask for instructions. Tell them that Meeting is at the eastern edge of the Empire, reachable by both seas and roads. Don't forget to mention that they are a little early compared to others, so they may expect some waiting time. I will spend that time usefully however. I shall meet their delegates soon."

"Very well. Your message will be relayed. Now there is another topic. There are people on our territory bearing a russian flag. They didn't attempt any communication by now, but our explorers have reached their lands in the far East. What should we do about them ?"

" I think they will communicate when they wish to. We can suppose that they speak roman, so there should be no difficulties. Let's wait and see what they have to say. "

"Emperor, I am the current Great Chaman of the Empire. I have to report that Judaism spread to Wild'Khoper. There are not many followers by now, but people begin to turn on our ancestral believes. It is happening slowly but surely. We must take action on that matter.

" Chaman. The people will know what are the best believes for them. What counts for me is their loyalty towards the Empire. You should study this new believes and report what you discover to me. "

The chaman just nodded and walked away, visibly unpleased.

" Hail Emperor Asiz, I am the leader of the Per'Shi'Ar. We'll need to meet in private. There is a very important issue to discuss."

" I will arrange a private audition for you soon. Thank you for reporting. "

Many others came to meet the Emperor on that day, and only late in the night he could join his wife in her chambers for the first time for so many years...

                • Lucius Junius Brutus has died of old age!

                  To: All civilized lands
From: The Roman Senate and People

Rome mourns as it has not since the death of King Numa Pompilus. The founder of the modern Roman Republic and our wise eader for many years, Lucius Junius Brutus has died peacefully in his sleep.

We invite all nations to send at least one diplomat to the state funeral in Rome. We ask that each make a speech about what their nation saw in our beloved consul. There is no need to send large expeditions, Brutus was a modest man, even one representative is enough (no need to send units, though nearby civs are certainly allowed to do so) and each nation will have the right to one speaker. After all except the last speaker (the last speaker being the new Roman consul that we shall elect in the coming weeks) are done we shall read his will, it is said by his son to contain not only what is to be done with his estate but also what he wishes Rome to do and become in the coming centuries.

May your people's be blessed with leaders as fine as the one we have lost.

                  • Ever since the overthrow of general Aelius, Rome had enjoyed peace, Consul Brutus did his best to create a working Republic and he is held in great esteem by future generations for doing so.

Many of his efforts where first based on improving the battered Roman economy. War exhaustion and civil wars had taken their toll, at the start of his reign Rome's GDP was just half that of Portugal. Brutus did his best to promote commerce. He built many forums across the Empire not only to increase public participation in government but also to encourage trade in those cities. He encouraged growth in Rome and the surrounding towns, the city's population surged and he soon had to adopt measures to slow this growth in order to avoid riots.

He also was a firm proponent of the rule of law, Courthouses would become a regular feature of most Roman cities and he began a program of fostering a sense of civic duty in Romans, at the time of his death he was also planning on implementing a civil service system.

Despite these successes he was not spared criticism, many pointed that:

-He despite his earlier promises used force to crush the Great Slave Revolt of Ravenna

-The Roman treasury was empty due to goverment spending, and Rome would soon be unable to meet foreign commitments

-He failed to allocate proper resources to the military and infrastructure. The army had declined in both quality and quantity. This made Roman vulnerable to attack from barbarians, it also lessened their deterrent against the Portugese.

-The system he created was essentially not that much different from a dictatorship, the benevolence and freedom it allowed where only possible because of his integrity the system had no fail safes in case of a less idealistic consul

-The rights of citizens where mostly limited to those living in the city of Rome
(OCC: The only city with specialists)

Many counter these arguments. A good example is the military build up of Portugal, it has been said that if he had tried to match it the Roman Republic would have collapsed under the huge expense.

The last years of his reign and especially the years after his reign at the end of the 3rd century would be known as:

                    The time of troubles

The many problems that plagued Rome in this time created an atmosphere of pessimism, there was talk of a impending economic crisis, decline or even collapse and perhaps even a Dark Age and the end of Roman civilzation.

The philosopher Spock made a prediction that the Roman empire in its current form would not last beyond the fifth century. He argued that barbarians, slave revolts, estrangement of allies would all eventually weaken Rome to the point of it being not being able to resist a Portuguese invasion. He believed that the revolution that turned Rome to republic was too little too late and would have in fact several negative consequences in the short term:

"The reforms of the New Roman Republic will only serve to accelerate the decline of the state. The adoption of Judaism has changed our values and the Consuls foreign policy tries to make Rome a more benevolent power, yet by doing this he has in fact eroded Rome's base of power. The cuts in military budget and attempts to involve the people in governance will only be interpreted as signs of weakness by its enemies. The economic difficulties will cause allies to consider us less valuable. Rome has made itself a throne of swords, and now he thinks it can sit on it because he's added a pillow or two. It is illogical to assume it is possible to keep an empire, build by the sword, together only by the pen. "
Others predicted that desertification or the slow abandonment of the worship of Romulus would leave Rome a runt state in a matter of decades.

These fear took hold due to the two major traumatic events of the period.

The massacre of 295. An army of Barbarian spearmen managed to kill thousands of Roman workers before the Legions from Petovio arrived.

The Great Slave Revolt of Ravenna. The Republic was forced to suppress it violently since it did not have the funds necessary to meet the slave's demands. This highlighted how the repressive structures of the past had remained intact and that despite the best efforts of many idealists the Republic was still a de facto dictatorship. A benevolent dictatorship, but this could easily change should a less idealistic consul come into office. It also showed that the sate no longer had the funds to support the ideals of the New Roman Republic.

The sturggle for power in the senate, effectively rendered Rome leaderless for years to come.
Foreign relations would be key in the election of the next Consul. What other states thought of Rome and which candidates where preferred abroad would tip the scales in this power struggle.

This was no place for a Ship.

:Change course , back to Rome " he yelled

The ship crew struggled but got the rudder turned.

The winds blew the waves crashed.

                          The boat was completely rolled.

The following day the skipper awoke to see strange people around him, they ran to and fro. They seemed to always be in a hurry, so he called them the Rushings.

The Oldonians do meet anther CIV !!!

Long ago in the when Kyoto was still growing lived a

ninja named Ishikawa Goemon. He was a brave and

noble shinobi who stole gold and treasures from the

rich and gave it to the poor. One day he was caught by

Lord Hideyoshi and asked to join his army. Goemon was

angry that a rich and powerful man like Hideyoshi only

wished to expand his army and not help the people of

Kyoto who were starving. He exepted Hideyoshi's offer

so he could be set free and so he was. Hideyoshi

walked away and Goemon started plotting. That night

Goemon snuck into the bed chambers to kill Hideyoshi.

What he did not know was Hideyoshi was not a fool

and had set up a system of bells to awake him in

someone entered. Goemon not knowing this tripped the

bells awaking the guards and Hideyoshi. Hideyoshi was

angered and ordered that Goemon and his entire family

be boiled alive in an iron cauldron. Goemom along with

his wife and child were all killed as a warning to others.

Hideyoshi the ordered that all large iron kettle-shaped

bathtubs now be called Goemon-buro (Goemon-bath).

After defeating the last defenders, the Immortal regiments entered the wildmen's village, plundering and pillaging, taking back what they took from piercian and roman trade-ships. Some women were captured to become servants or prostitutes, or even be sold to foreign countries as slaves.

The small tribe of the so-called Philipines was no more, and the total value of the pillaged goods were estimated around 97 000 gold pieces (OOC: 97 gold).

Now the journey southwards could truely begin.

Jonin. This is a high honor for your young age. Not many

You are to make sure to keep him safe and give him

what he asks for…within reason. I have been told he

likes to drink a lot so make sure he stays out of trouble.

What ever you do, do NOT let him out of your sight. It

will take time for our people to adjust to the Koreans so

until then make sure his stay here is a safe one. The

                                misunderstanding.

As you wish my lord. But what of

my forces will I not be deployed when they are ready?

                                Kenshin answered simply…No

                                . Hanzo then said As

                                you wish my lord,
                                then used a smoke pellet

and was gone. Kenshin then walked to the window and

looked out. He looked around taking in the beauty. He

then walked up to the next level of the castle and

looked out to the other side. There he spotted the

young Emperor and Inahime sitting and talking. The two

were holding each other close the way that lovers do.

Kenshin smiled then walked to the war room to meet

with his retainers to make plans for a war many years in

the making against those who opposed him.
