You request us to join you at a meeting in Percia. We would gratefully meet there, but you dont want diplomats there you request our soldeirs to attend. We cannot spare any of our remaining units for this task, nor would we send one solitary unit across the vastness of the Barbarian empire. That would be foolish.

After we have wiped out hte barbarians, which are obviously leaving the rest of the world in peace if youcan all safely send a single unit to a distnat land . After this is done we will seek out the Pierced ones.

Your plans sound great but are not suitable to us. We cannot attend due to the mechanics of the world we live in, we would be there in spirit and negotiate but this is not what you want.

We estimate if we even had one spare unit that could survie attacks from Barbarians it would be 30 or more Turans before they would arrive.

Your meeting is obviously soon not in 300 uyears time.

Call us again later if you reschedule.
      Unto: The Oldonians
      From: Chief Tarhe, Wyandot Nation

      My friend and neighbor,

Since the Wyandot have forces guarding the Oldonian road-build project in your lands, a Dog Soldier could escort a unit of yours through the Wyandot Range and into Wyandot lands and then on to Piercia for the meeting. Would Oldonia be able to spare one soldier for this endevour?

      Chief Tarhe

      • Portugal appreciates what Rome is trying to achieve with this continent conference in the Piercian city of Meeting. We also welcome the return to normality and peace in our region.

Winds from far away have brought news of such similar conference already been called in far far away lands.

But our friends and neighbors should understand that Portugal is in a very peculiar situation. Just recently both Rome and Piercia declared war on us, and invaded aggressively our territories. Finally now there is peace with the Romans. Portugal is still at war with the host city nation Piercia. A war which will end soon. Nevertheless Portugal fears for the safety of its diplomats especially sending them into hostile nations, which just days ago were marching into our lands.

If the meeting was in neutral and safe territories we would have send gladly our representatives.

We will be observing closely from the lands of our friends the Wyandots any developments that may take place at the city of Meeting. But we can not jeopardize the safety of our people sending them any more south.….

We fear you misunderstand, we never requested the presence of soldiers. Surely the oldonian empire can spare a scout?

Also the meeting will span several centuries as it will actually be more of a semi-permanent embassy. Rome will have a unit there waiting to make contact for quite some time.

Also the price of a unit may seem high, but how do you expect to find allies in your wars with the barbarians or to catch up technologically if you don't attend? By the time the barbarian empire is defeated the rest of the world will have advanced, perhaps too far for your nation to catch up.

              We understand your delicate situation.

But perhaps we can work together to overcome it? Rome guarantees the safety of any representatives you send.

Should he be harmed in any way Rome shall declare war on the nation behind the assault, we so pledge publicly.

We have nothing but peaceful intentions towards Portugal. That is why we are offering you the use of our roads for your representative to travel south from the great holy city to the city of Meeting. This will allow you to see our lands in great detail, something we do not take lightly but we are willing to tolerate in the spirit of this meeting.

Surely this is enough... we need to also remind you that Piercia is currently our ally and a partner in this meeting. We are certain they would never abuse the meeting for some trivial assassination, and the peace deal we made with you demanded they stay at war a while longer, there is no further need for this.

If despite this you feel unsafe, why don't you attend the meeting by having your representatives camp just outside the city limits? That way anyone interested in Portugal can walk there less than a day and meet the representatives of your great nation. Rome is willing to supply you with the water, shelter and food to make your stay comfortable even in the harsh desert hills.

              • Seeing it so easy for everyone else to travel freely, perhspd the meeting would be better in Neutral place like Wyandots nation. I would offer my own nation but relaise it would gt knocked back.

So we propose meeting in Wyandot lands.

That we could get someone to much quicker especially if the meeting is in Western Wyandots. We could meet near the Wyandot ranges.

Much easier for all the Southern and Western nations to attend. So much closer.

                • But harder for eastern nations, such as Spain.

Also southern nations can use floaters to get there easily.

The Wyandot nation is besides Portugal the most northern nation. We do not think that they are geographically suited to hold the summit.

Also how is Wyandot territory neutral and Piercia not? People would need to temporarily open borders with them as well.

The city of Meeting is sufficient for this meet. Oldonia can end its isolation by taking advantage of the Wyandot offer, your entire trip can be by road and after your initial trek through civilized lands.

Marco feeling happy about the day’s good work, decided to sit down and finish his latest poem:

He looks out on the ocean deep
                      So far beyond the blue
                      His mind remembers yesterday
Of a love so pure and true
Of when she stole his heart away
When they met upon the lea
For the first in his weary life
So deep in love was he

He longs to hold her tight once more
Like he did so long ago
And wallow in her every charm
                      That set his heart aglow
                      To lose himself forevermore
                      For all eternity
As the ocean sings a silent song
So deep in love is he

He dreams of times perhaps to come
When they will be as one
                      Looking out across the waves
                      To view the setting sun
He whispers soft a prayer of hope
That once more he will see
The woman that makes him realize
So deep in love is he
it beautiful. ganesh love portugal and must find this mystical land. he look out across the wave and know that spain boat went north.

it great shame not in poem for shiva. such talent sad lack in our continent but all to learn and write rhyme and song. ganesh to try.

                        Are you kidding me?

I'm not trying to get involved in this really, but if you need someone to tell you why Wyandot is neutral and Piercia isn't ASK PORTUGAL?

                        That's why.

It has already on numerous occasions been stated that once you have met a civ who has met another civ, provided they tall you about that other civ you can commuicate with that third civ.

                            To My dear Roman leader

                            From Oldonia leader

It ws our understanding this meeting was for this continenet to get together, we misunderstood it is actualyl for the world to get together.

Secondly, Percia, Rome and Portugul are not neutral territory for each of those people till Portugul trusts its old enemies.

Thirdly, Not all of the southern nations have Sailing ability yet.

Fourthly , if coming by land then all the southern nations will get to Wyandots nation before the Percias.

Fifthly, Open borders will be needed for all nations to get to this meeting so who they do it with is regardless, open borders with Wyandots is jsut as easy as Percia.

Sixthly, We will send some one but it will take many many years, and whilst you may justify keeping a unit in Meeting till i arrive i am not sure all of the otherr 10 nations invited will do so too.

So again, to speed communications, it would be easier and faster for the Eastern Nations to head WEST to at least Wyandots territory. And for all SOuthern and Western Nations to head North and East. If they have sailing great, but if not they will need to organise Open borders with myself and Wyandots.

From what we know of geography this is mostly untrue.

-you are neglecting that the travel time (by land) of southern nations will be a very long one indeed.

Again the city of Meeting has been selected all the we are now asking of people is whether they will attend.

Also unless Oldonia or Korea are vassals of Portugal I fail to see how Piercia is not neutral ground. Again let me stress that we have made a more than generous offer to Portugal and that they should feel safe, unless they intend to boycott the event not out of fear of safety but because of remaining sour feelings against Rome.

Rome came up with the idea, Rome organizes the event.
We have scrutinized many maps and consider a Piercain city ideal for the meet. We do believe a city on the Western Edge of Piercia would be much much better, but it was Piercia's decision of which city to generously offer for the meet, it also had the unintended bonus of making travel for eastern nations easier.

The only change of venue that is too occur, is if Piercia offers another city. I suggest that if you wish to move the meeting closer to your lands you focus on talking with Piercia.
