    • I will burn your city if you settle outside the territories I have given to you. The bridge belongs to Sparta, it borders to Sparta and we have secured it with our soldiers for hundreds of years. I will destroy your settler if it moves within the borders.

      Japan:

I'm sorry but No. I will settle the bridge. I will no longer be thretened by you. Beside by all rights the north side of that bridge should be mine. you had no right to give it out. now i don't think you would try to burn my city if i settle. and by the way my Island will be 100% settled in 5 turns.

      • The city gates opened slowly as Archers funneled into

the main street. The unit of 20,000 imperial archers

returns wounded and depleted. The men were tired

after the long march home. All of their visages were

filled with pain and sorrow. None of the citizens who

lined up to each side of the street know what

happened. Only whispers filled the near silent march to

the to of Hanoji castle. The unit reached the castle

where Takauji Ashikaga was waiting impatiently hoping

to hear good news of the battle. The captain of Archers

walk over to Takauji with his head hung low. Takauji

already knew what happened but he still wanted to

        hear it.

Sir, the captain said as he was

trying to regain his composure. The battle was going

horribly bad. The barbarians were a lot stronger and

their weapons made then almost unbeatable. If it were

not of our lord Suizei none of us would have survived.

Even though we were out numbered and out matched,

our lord led us to victory. He fought like a warrior poet

but in the end the wound inflicted by the barbarian

        leader finished him.

Takauji told the men to take Suizei to the Great

Pyramid to be buried inside that sacred place. He then

turned and walked into the castle never showing

anyone any emotion. He held in his grief and pain until

he walked into Suizei’s room. Inside the room were

Suizei’s wife and young child. He told her what had

happened to Suizei. As the woman began to cry he also

broke down. The son of Suizei, Annei, was too young to

know what happened nor did he know that he was now

        the new Emperor of Japan.

The next day after the funeral the Imperial court gave

full control over Japan to Takauji until Annei was old

enough to rule. Takauji humbly accepted. His first order

was to continue with Suizei’s dream of expanding

Japan. He sent settlers to the north and ordered fro

more to be made and sent south to the Tanba area and

two to be sent to Nara island and another was sent

back to the Land bridge. Japan was no longer going to

be pushed around by larger countries. He was not the

kind of man to take threats from larger forces. He spoke

in front of everyone and said; Even if

we are out numbered we will never stop fighting. We

will fight until and we will never surrender. We must

remember the sacrifice our great lord made and we

must honor him with victory or with death.

Those lands are not yours to give out. I will settle there

and if you do burn my city it will only go to show you

have no real honor. You are nothing but a big country

that thinks you are better then me because I’m small.

No longer will Japan be pushed around by you or

anyone else, and even if you do burn my city I will build

another and another. As long as I, Takauji Ashikaga, am

alive I will never back down and I will never surrender.

So come at me if you wish. I will not change my plans.

Takauji, We have given you a lot of lands to settle. This land included many resources and nice city spots.
We also offered you resources and the use of our canal.

You can of course ignore all of this and declare war on us by settling within our territory, but that doesn't serve your people very well.

Don't expect that we will hesitate to destroy your illegal settlements. We have promised that land bridge to our friends the Koreans. These Koreans are a stable nation, we trust them with our heart. They are our friends. We will never give up that relation for a relation with an unstable Japan that acts foolishly.

Remember that, when you make decisions.
You can be our friends and enjoy your gifts.
You can also declare war, then we take back everything. No techs, no resources, no land and no canal.

We are not pushing you around. We are actually helping you. We give you a lot, but you want more then I can give you.

            It's up to you

            Alexander.

What gives you the right to give this land to anyone? If

we were talking about the southern half I would

completely understand but the fact is that we are

talking about the north that by all rights belongs to me.

I do not want or need handouts by you or anyone else.

I thought a prideful race like the Spartans would

understand but apparently I was wrong. I will settle the

northern part that you previously gave to the Mayans.

My country is small and weak so I have nothing to loss.

Just remember if you do declare war either wipe me out

completely or not at all for I will never give up. No

              surrender no retreat!!!!!

              • Takauji,

We decide to whom we give the northern part because it borders to our land and we have secured if from barbarians for hundreds of years.

We will not completely destroy you. We just will secure the land bridge.

If your country is small and weak, then lead it with wisdom. Sparta is your direct neighbour. We are willing to supply you with technologies, resources and land. Grab what we offer to you.
Don't be a fool by declaring war on your strong neighbour.

Ganesh, the Celtic people thank you for sharing your map with them. We are on our way to the great meeting. We may need another boat to travel around the northern coast. Our current navy is sailing south for the wedding of the beautiful Isabella and it seems too far to continue around to the other side of the continent in time.

As any true Spartan if my actions are foolish. Ask any

who’s pride has gotten them farther then those who

cower in fear of others. Japan will no longer cower in

fear. We will follow the example of our former great

leader Emperor Suizei and we will fight. We will fight for

our right to expand, we will fight for our right to

prosper, and we will fight so than next time you refer to

Japan to other you will not consider us a joke. You may

destroy our cities and take our lands but the soul of

Japan will live on. I suggest you talk with your Korean

friends maybe they will be willing to share. Otherwise I

will see you in hell and I promise you if you do attack

us I shall not stop until all of Greece or Japan is but a

                    memory.

As far as I understand it he won't declare war, he'll just settle the land he believes is not yours to give.

                        • We see this settlement of Japan on our territory as an act of war.
Japan has agreed with the borders in the past.
Japan is currently being deceived by a bloodthirsty warrior.
Sparta doesn't reject Japan's desire to expand. We have even assigned many locations to Japan, including an island in front of our coast.

We have offered Japan many gifts, like free techs, free resources and even units to protect it's cities.

But the new leader of Japan, who's only a regent till the real leader reached maturity, apparently chooses insanity above wisdom.

Since Japan can settle at many places, as the map I posted shows, but chooses to settle exactly there where we agreed he would not settle, we will see such a settlement as an act of war.

And if Japan wants to fight till either Japan or Sparta is history, then we will conquer Japan and make a vassal state out of it. We do not desire the destruction of Japan. We tried everything to let Japan grow.

Japan confuses honour and bravery with insanity and foolishness. We can not allow such a nation to settle next to Sparta.

We encourage other nations like the Wyandots and Rome to talk to Japan and let Japan choose wisdom above insanity. For the sake of Japan itself.

                          Alexander.

                          • You have it all wrong. I am no bloodthirsty regent. I am

the Shogun and I am not a fool. I know the strategic

value of having a city on that bridge and I am not about

to let a nation I have never even met have it all to them

selves. I will not be threatened by you and Japan will

never become your vassal state. Just keep this in mind

after this war is said and done Japan will no longer be

the butt of yours or anyone else’s jokes. You will learn

to give Japan the respect it deserves.

                            • Sparta has always given respect to Japan, despite it's small size. All our gifts and promises show this.

                              You're not our puppet.
We've never told you what to do. All we did was refusing you to give land we had already given to others. We gave you everything else, but you still wanted more.

I've tried everything to avoid this war, I've even offered you a gift you can require yourself, as long as it's fair. But apparently you only want the only thing I can't give you.

You send your own people to their dead.
I will send my galleys to Japan to remove your authority, instead of sending them to meeting. They are on their way a we speak. (instead of sending them to Meeting they will now sail towards the Japanese Island).

I will only call them back if you recall your claim of the city spot.

                              Alexander

                              • Ha your empty threats mean nothing to me. And yes to

our face you have never disrespected us. But while

speaking to others you have. You refer to us as a joke

to others and this will not stand. On top of this you

refuse to give us land that was never yours. You gave it

to the Mayans who apparently do not want it and when

I try to take vacated land you try to stop me saying it is

yours when it is not. And as for the so-called border

agreement it was never in affect. Our lord agreed to it

so we could access Iron but since you were not able to

send Iron the deal was voided. So the land falls back

into our jurisdiction. So you have no right to give what

is not yours to give. I will settle and I will not back

down. We have more right to the land then you have

and if your troops land on my shores I will have

                                something special waiting for them.
