    Thanks.

I hate photoshop though. I am constantly infuriated using that damn program. In the middle of making that picture photoshop somehow switched me over to a Dvorak keyboard!! Ahh!!

But yea, I took the sky background and switched it so the dark clouds would be behind Goliath and the light side behind David. Showing one as evil and one as good, and also showing the fury of God building behind Goliath.

Ah, I spend too much time on this damn game... heh..

I consider MMC to be very unreliable player, atleast let us know that u won't be playing or something. leaving us guessing to the last sec just sucks.

I think its safe to say our complaints about his connection may have made him quit. If the game hadn't have progressed so much better than it did (despite the hour sub fiasco) I would feel worse about it. I'd like for him to continue if he can straighten out his connection issues, but I feel maintaining a somewhat reilable connection is a player's responcibility.

I fall asleep after a very busy day and I get called unreliable - it's not my fault the session starts at midnight... I admit I haven't posted about it, but I've told enough people over IM.

It is your responsibility that you have attached yourself to a game that starts midnight your time. And if you can't make it at that time it is your fault indeed.

And of course, you can fall asleep and miss a session by accident. But you didn't even tell us what happened and this is your first post since then and you're not even saying sorry.

Neither did you tell us if you'll play next friday.
And the people you told over IM didn't post about you either here. You didn't response to my PM.

Conclusion: right now you seem to be a bit unreliable. But you can prove us wrong by just showing up and contribute to the game. And of course: just reply to this thread. It's not like you didn't got a whole week and you haven't visited poly in these days and didn't post in other forums.

C'mon MMC, blame yourself, not us. And don't get upset if people say you're unreliable.

Actually, the accusation is that MMC is very unreliable. And whilst my college English teacher taught me that the word 'very' isn't a good qualifying word, the harsh point is taken well by both of us. MMC has confirmed with me for this Friday. As a gentleman, I am willing to vouch that MMC shall appear Friday and correct this misconception.

Then I would encourage MMC to take a hard look at his router settings, firewalls, anti-virus programs, and game files to make sure that they are all turned off and set to a standard. I'd hate to return to the number of drops and false starts we had in the previous weeks.

Eventhough me myself wouldn't take the 'very unreliable' word in my mouth for one incident I do think that it's a little bit strange that MMC doesn't just say sorry but straightly attacks other players.

And I'm happy that he confirmed to you but so far he himself still didn't right here on the board.

Thanks to you for confirming his presence though!
I hope we'll have a good session next friday!

Atleast tomorrow with MMC back we will know for sure if he is causing the connection problems. And if so we should plz take on some action, i do not want for the rest of the game to spend 1:30hrs playing. Sorry if i'm a bit harsh, but people should join this game only when they know that they got the specs or connection requirements for a smooth game.

                        Thx

I would add that the computer settings will also affect the connection; that is, the performance of the computer (processor power, memory, video card, etc) It was the main cause for me in the earlier diplogame, anyway. (Routers also played some small part >_>)

I think a lot of people have worked hard on their posts so full credit there.

My approach and preference is to avoid introverted historical stories and go for strategic game-play based interactions. I think the storys need to engage with the other civs as a priority with historical stuff as colour, not the dominant story.

But, hey I'm just stating my personal preference.

                                That's what I did for HOTW V.
And I think it'll become more like that when diplomacy becomes more important in the game.
Since there didn't happen much on the diplomacy part of the early game (naturally) I think story telling is a good thing to get into the game and define the ambiance.
