I restricted it to 12 players as that is what Firaxis supports.

And I know in my bones some will disappear or need subs.

Ok, the save looks good to me. No complaints from my end.

What do you mean about restricting it to 12 players though? Why can't we do more than that? And didn't we have more than 12 players confirm? So whose civs did you leave out?

I think Deity means that it's very well possible that in the end 2 or 3 players won't show up anyway or can't make it with their schedule, I think that's very well possible indeed. Besides that, I understand from him that Firaxis only supports up to 12 players, which means that Firaxis doesn't help or provide solutions (ie. with patches) for problems with connecting 13+ people.
(which doesn't mean in itself that it won't work)

Something else, I see that the discussion regarding this game is covering many different threads already!
I suggest that we focus all game discussions in this thread.

There are a few things that need to be arranged:

- gametime
- techtrade
- pitboss
- everybody's intention to totally go for the game

some new stuff:
- everybody enable private messaging through apolyton
- everybody enable e-mail receiving through apolyton
- everybody install warlords
- everybody install AIM and share your AIM name (AIM is AOL Instant Messaging) we need it for communication if login in to the game fails)
- everybody makes sure he understands his computers firewalls and knows how to turn them off, everybody makes sure they're not behind a router or know how to configure a router.

I suggest that this game will be leaded by OzzyKP and co-leaded by Deity and myself. Final decisions will be made by him, if he can't make a decision for whatever reason the assistent game leaders do it. We can't have an anarchy for such a big-long game (12+ players, 20+ sessions) so one game leader is important.

Firstly I want to ask the new players if they want to confirm that they'll go for the game (read my post about this from +-1 week ago). It's important that you realise the impact of this game and the responsibility you take on your shoulders by participating. You must realise that you can't simply quit if you don't like the game. You must understand that you should login in time, etc. Please: all new players confirm!

All please stop replying to other threads, if you want to reply to something said in that thread, quote it in this thread and reply here! Thanks

I think I left out Russia.

We'd be mad top go with more than 12. You need about 15-18 players including subs for a 12 player game.

I confirm and I also protest at having to have anything to do with AOL (or Yahoo for that matter - both use dodgy software that can't be completely removed or disabled without a reformat). This said, I do have an AIM account if necessary.

I would prefer the standardized format of IRC. For those who can't connect, there is the web-based one, and for those who can't stand that (because Markos or Dan don't seem to have noticed the expiry date on their Java client licence), there is an alternative at htp://dynasty.evogame.co.uk/ which also connects to the Apolyton IRC server.

MMC, you have Trillian, which has AIM on it. So just use that. No extra software on your computer, it is easy. AIM is what most of us seem to use, so lets stick with that. I don't think anyone else has or is familiar with IRC besides you and me (and I just got mine working again yesterday thanks to you).

Deity - 12 players is fine, I'm just wondering about who you decided to cut and why. That's all.
